: The Silliman University College of Arts and Sciences - Biology Department is calling all interested first-year applicants to APPLY to its Bachelor of Science in Biology for SY 2024-2025!

A. FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (STEM/STEAM STRAND) GRADUATES

1. General Quality Point Average (QPA): 80% or higher
2. No grade should be lower than 80% in the following subjects:

a. General Biology 1
b. General Biology 2
c. General Chemistry 1
d. General Chemistry 2
e. General Physics 1
f. General Physics 2
g. Pre-calculus
h. Basic calculus

B. FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (NON-STEM/STEAM STRAND & NON-ACADEMIC TRACK)
GRADUATES

1. General Quality Point Average (QPA): 80% or higher
2. No grade should be lower than 80% in the following subjects:

a. Earth & Life Science
b. Physical Science
c. General Math
d. Statistics & Probability
e. Research 1 (Qualitative research)
f. Research 2 (Quantitative research)
g. Inquiries, Investigation & Immersion

3. Required to take augmentation subjects (listed below) during the first year after admission and get a grade of 80% or higher:

a. Gen. Bio. (ALA)
b. Chem. 13(2018)
c. Physics 00(ALA)2018

C. FOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES UNDER THE OLD, Pre-K12 CURRICULUM

1. General Quality Point Average (QPA): 80% and above
2. Required to take augmentation subjects (listed below) during the first year after admission and get a grade of 80% or higher:

a. Gen. Bio. (ALA)
b. Chem 13(2018)
c. Physics 00 (ALA)2018
d. Math 00 (AUG) (Pre-calculus, Basic calculus)

: The Silliman University College of Computer Studies (CCS) is announcing its General Admission Guidelines SY 2024-2025 for applicants interested in CCS baccalaureate degrees!

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

A. For Senior High School Graduates

1. The College is open to all SHS graduates regardless of their tracks. However, the applicant must have a General Average of at least 85% (with no grades below 80% in any subject) for him/her to be accepted as a regular first-year student.
2. STEM/STEAM SHS graduates with any Math or Science subject with a grade below 85% are required to take the additional non-credit course, Problem Solving and Logic Formulation (PSLF 00), prior to or concurrent with Introduction to Computing (CCS 1) and Fundamentals of Programming (CCS 2) professional courses.
3. All non-STEM/STEAM graduates are required to take the additional non-credit course, Problem Solving and Logic Formulation (PSLF 00), prior to or concurrent with Introduction to Computing (CCS 1) and Fundamentals of Programming (CCS 2) professional courses.
4. Non-STEM/STEAM graduates who will enroll in the BSCS program will have to take additional non-credit courses as prerequisites to some professional courses.
5. Those applicants with a General Average of at least 85% but who have a grade below 80% in not more than two (2) subjects may be accepted as an On Probation (OP) student. Policy for OP students applies.

B. For Shiftees

1. Those shifting from other Schools/Colleges of the University may be allowed to shift to any of the degrees offered by the College provided that the student has a Cumulative Quality Point Average (CQPA) of at least 2.0.
2. Those without programming courses in their previous Schools/Colleges of the University will be required to take the non-credit course, Problem Solving and Logic Formulation (PSLF 00).

C. For Transferees
Applicants from other schools and universities may be admitted to the College provided that the student:

1. has a QPA of not less than 2.0 or its equivalent;
2. submits a Transcript of Records (TOR) and complete description of computer courses taken (course outline and syllabus) in other schools for proper evaluation and validation;
3. repeats all major courses if the student comes from a non-COE/COD in ITE, non PAASCU, non-ACSCU, or non-PICAB accredited school/university; and
4. takes the non-credit course, Problem Solving and Logic Formulation (PSLF 00), if the previous enrolled degree from other schools and universities does not have programming courses.

Note: Validation exams may be given to transferees/shiftees if deemed necessary by the Department Chair.

Only first-year and second-year professional courses and common professional courses found in any CCS curriculum will be considered for advanced credits.

Students coming from schools or universities outside the Philippines have to be evaluated by the respective Department Chairpersons for advanced credits.

D. For Second Coursers

Non-K to 12 second coursers will take all General Education courses.

E. For Foreign Students

A committee composed of the Department Chairpersons and/or faculty will decide on the admission of foreign students. A signature indicating their approval will be required by the University Office of Registrar and Admissions prior to enrolment.
