๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ | The NORSU Aviation Department successfully conducted the ATR 42/72-500/600 General Familiarization Course from August 17โ€“22, 2026.

The week-long General Familiarization/Refresher Training provided our instructors with a comprehensive review of the aircraftโ€™s major systems, their functions, operations, and how they work together during aircraft operation.

Throughout the week, the training covered ATA Chapters 21 through 38, including Air Conditioning, Auto Flight, Communications, Electrical Power, Equipment and Furnishings, Fire Protection, Flight Controls, Fuel, Hydraulic Power, Ice and Rain Protection, Indicating/Recording Systems, Landing Gear, Lights, Navigation, Oxygen, Pneumatic, Vacuum, and Water/Waste systems.

This training served as a valuable refresher and further strengthened our instructorsโ€™ overall understanding of the ATR 42/72 aircraft systems.

We extend our appreciation to our dedicated instructors for their commitment to continuously expanding their knowledge and expertise. Their efforts in undergoing this training will further contribute to strengthening their capabilities and the quality of instruction they provide.

The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to learn about gender equality, accountability, respect, and the prevention of gender-based harassment in schools, workplaces, public spaces, and online communities.

As future aviation maintenance professionals, they are not only preparing to build and maintain aircraft but they ate also learning on how to build a culture grounded in professionalism, responsibility, and respect.
