The first-ever International Student Research Conference (ISRC), hosted by Iloilo Science and Technology University โ Miagao Campus on December 16, 2025 via Zoom, has been a remarkable testament to the power of student research and collaboration across borders. This virtual gathering showcased the creativity, innovation, and commitment of young researchers in addressing pressing global challenges through local solutions.
We, at the Office of National and International Affairs (NIA), are deeply honored to have been inspired by our distinguished speakers:
โขDr. Corazon C. Corbal, Vice President for Academic Affairs of ISAT U, set the tone by emphasizing the importance of contextualizing global challenges within local realities.
โขDr. Sakrin Tam, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the University of Puthisastra, enriched the discussion with his insights on social innovation and community-based research, reminding us that research must always serve people and communities.
โขDr. Natalia Ovsiienko, Head of the Marketing Department at the European University, concluded the plenary with a powerful message on the role of youth-led research in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, inspiring participants to see themselves as agents of sustainable change.
We also extend our gratitude to our panel of judges, whose expertise guided the evaluation of student presentations. Mr. Aldwin Silfavan provided valuable perspectives in the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Education category; Ms. Rosevic Esbieto offered her keen insights in Hospitality, Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Tourism; and Ms. May Flor Muege brought her expertise to the Science and Technology category. Their thoughtful feedback not only recognized excellence but also encouraged students to refine and elevate their research endeavors.
This conference would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the Research Services Department, whose leadership and dedication ensured the academic integrity and success of ISRC 2025. We also commend the ISAT U Miagao Campus Student Ambassadors and the ISAT U Student Republic - Miagao Campus, whose enthusiasm, creativity, and organizational skills made this virtual event engaging and memorable. Their collaboration with the National and International Affairs Office exemplifies the spirit of student leadership and global citizenship.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Administrative Council of ISAT U, whose unwavering support and vision enabled this international platform to flourish. Their encouragement has strengthened the universityโs role as a hub for research, innovation, and international collaboration.
Finally, we celebrate the participation of students from the Philippines and Indonesia, whose contributions enriched the dialogue and demonstrated the boundless potential of youth-led research. Your active engagement, presentations, and exchange of ideas have proven that research is a shared language of progress and hope, transcending geographical boundaries.
As ISRC 2025 concludes, we carry forward the inspiration from our speakers, the wisdom of our judges, and the passion of our student-researchers. May this gathering continue to spark collaborations, ignite innovations, and empower young minds to make research matterโlocally and globally. Padayon, ISAT U! ๐๐โจ
