A significant transboundary haze event is currently affecting portions of Luzon and the Visayas—including Iloilo City—due to persistent forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, carried by the prevailing Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).
To protect yourself and your family from fine particulate matter and potential respiratory irritants:
● Wear a face mask (N95 or surgical mask) when stepping outdoors
● Limit prolonged outdoor activities, especially for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions
● Keep doors and windows closed to keep indoor air clean
● Stay hydrated and monitor official health advisories
Let’s prioritize our safety and keep our lungs protected!
