Ayon sa dokumento ng proyekto, na inaprubahan ng parehong Korean at Filipino na pamahalaan, ang kanilang pangunahing tungkulin ay ang pag-aalaga ng "mga bata at mga buntis na kababaihan at tumulong sa pagsasagawa ng mga pang-araw-araw na gawain tulad ng paglilinis, paglalaba at gawain sa kusina na may kaugnayan sa pag-aalaga."

Ang mga manggagawa ay "maaari ring tumulong sa mga incidental at magaan na gawain sa pamamahala ng sambahayan para sa mga miyembro ng pamilyang magkakasama."
