Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often display restricted interests, repetitive behavior, aggression, tantrums, anxiety, and other unusual or challenging behaviors. It can be difficult for caregivers to manage these types of behaviors, particularly when it is unclear why they are happening. This training is intended to (1) present several common reasons for unusual or challenging behavior, (2) explain why it is important to understand why the behavior is happening, and (3) describe how caregivers can identify the reason for their childโs behavior. Understanding the reason behind your childโs unusual or challenging behavior is the first step in effective treatment.
