SCOUTING MONTH KICK-OFF 2026

A meaningful start to Scouting Month!

Our registered Scouts, Adult Leaders and selected PNHS Drum and Lyre Band came together for the Simultaneous Sunrise Parade on October 1, 2026, showcasing unity, discipline, camaraderie, and the true spirit of Scouting.

The activity was made possible through the support and approval of our School Head, Mr. Elpedio P. Mabiya, with the guidance of Annabel S. Papellero, WBH, BSP Coordinator/Outfit Adviser, together with Allan Paul Encina, PNHS Drum and Lyre Chorde Coordinator.

📚✨ A SUCCESSFUL 1ST TERM PORTFOLIO DAY! ✨📚

Puerto Bello National High School successfully conducted its 1st Term Portfolio Day on September 18, 2026, providing our learners with a meaningful opportunity to showcase their accomplishments, outputs, progress, and learning experiences throughout the first term.

The activity began with a General Assembly at the Puerto Bello Conference Hall, led by our School Head, Sir Elpedio P. Mabiya, bringing together parents, guardians, teachers, and school leaders to strengthen communication, collaboration, and partnership in supporting our learners.

The gathering also featured the Induction and Oath-Taking of the General PTA and Homeroom PTA Officers, administered by Ma’am Besil Janel E. Puyos, as our parent leaders formally embraced their responsibilities and commitment to the school and its learners.

After the General Assembly, parents and guardians proceeded to their respective class advisories for the Card Giving, where they received their children’s report cards and had the opportunity to discuss their academic performance, progress, and learning journey with the class advisers.

To all our dear parents and guardians, thank you for taking the time to be present and for your continuous support to your children and to Puerto Bello National High School. Your presence reminds our learners that they have a strong support system behind them every step of the way.

This is just the beginning. We still have more terms to go, more challenges to overcome, more lessons to learn, and many more milestones to celebrate. Let us continue working hand in hand—home and school—for the growth, success, and well-being of every learner.

DIVISION SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND MATHEMATICS FAIR 2026

With determination in their hearts and the support of the school and community behind them, our learners took on the challenge of the Division Science, Technology and Mathematics Fair 2026 held on September 2–4, 2026, in Dulag, Leyte.

Learners from different grade levels proudly represented Puerto Bello National High School in SciDama, Science and Math Quiz Bee, and Poster Making, showcasing their knowledge, skills, and determination to give their very best.

This opportunity would not have been possible without the people who extended their support in various ways. Our sincere appreciation goes to the LGU of Merida for generously providing transportation assistance, facilitated through Mrs. Annabel Papellero.

We also extend our gratitude to our dedicated advisers, parents and learners who helped provide additional food support for our learners, and to our supportive School Head, Mr. Elpedio P. Mabiya, for his continued encouragement and assistance.

To everyone who contributed, whether through resources, guidance, time, or simple acts of support—thank you for believing in our learners and helping them take part in opportunities that allow them to grow and shine.

To our contestants, thank you for representing Puerto Bello with pride! Your hard work, courage, and willingness to learn are already something worth celebrating.

Three words. One purpose: BE PREPARED.

On September 3, 2026, Puerto Bello National High School successfully conducted the National Simultaneous Safety Drill 2026, featuring the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) response protocol for active shooter incidents.

Spearheaded by the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (SDRRM) Team, led by Mrs. Marites V. Gerilla, SDRRM Coordinator, with the guidance of our School Head, Mr. Elpedio P. Mabiya, the activity strengthened the awareness and preparedness of our learners, teachers, and staff.

We are grateful to PMAJ Ronald Espina, OIC Chief of Police, Merida Municipal Police Station, who served as our PNP Resource Speaker and shared valuable guidance on emergency preparedness and response.

The activity was made possible through the support and collaboration of the PNP, BFP, MERU, school personnel, SSLG, PERU, parents, and stakeholders.

The celebration of talent and excellence continued as our Puerto Bellonian learners once again stepped forward to represent Puerto Bello National High School at the Area Mathematics Competition 2026 on August 22, 2026, held at Kananga National High School.

Following our learners' participation in the Area Mathematics Competition 2026, our student representatives from Grades 7–12 took on the challenge of showcasing their mathematical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities through the Individual and Team Math Quiz competitions.
