📢 No Face-to-Face Classes, Shift to Alternative Learning | August 20, 2026

In view of the Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 131, Face-to-Face classes will be suspended on August 20, 2026 in the affected areas due to the anticipated heavy rainfall and enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

To ensure learning continuity, classes will shift to alternative learning modalities, such as modular learning, until face-to-face classes can safely resume. Teachers will provide the necessary instructions and learning activities through their respective official group chats.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 20

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

📍 National Capital Region (NCR)
📍 Abra
📍 Benguet
📍 Ilocos Norte
📍 Ilocos Sur
📍 La Union
📍 Pangasinan
📍 Bataan
📍 Bulacan
📍 Nueva Ecija
📍 Pampanga
📍 Tarlac
📍 Zambales
📍 Batangas
📍 Cavite
📍 Laguna
📍 Rizal
📍 Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

In accordance with the announcement of the Provincial Government of Cavite, ALL LEVELS of face-to-face classes in both public and private schools throughout the Province of Cavite are SUSPENDED tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, due to the continued heavy rainfall and prevailing weather conditions.

📚 Classes will continue through Modular Distance Learning (MDL). Teachers will provide the necessary instructions and learning activities through their respective official group chats.

We remind all students, parents, teachers, and school personnel to prioritize safety, remain vigilant, and continue monitoring official advisories from the local government and Tagaytay-Mendez Academy.

Dahil sa patuloy na malakas na pag-ulan at sa umiiral na weather conditions sa Cavite, ipinapaalam na SUSPENDIDO ANG KLASE SA LAHAT NG ANTAS (ALL LEVELS) sa public at private schools sa buong lalawigan ng Cavite.

📢 SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT | SUSPENSION OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

In line with the latest announcement from the Municipality of Mendez, face-to-face classes at all levels at Tagaytay–Mendez Academy are still suspended tomorrow, August 18, 2026 (Tuesday), due to the continuing rains brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

To ensure the continuity of learning, Modular Distance Learning (MDL) will be implemented.

Students and parents/guardians are advised to stay safe, remain alert, and continue monitoring official TMA announcements for further instructions.

Let us all prioritize safety and take the necessary precautions during the inclement weather.

Upang hindi maputol ang pagkatuto, Modular Distance Learning (MDL) ang ipatutupad upang makapagpatuloy ang ating mga anak sa kanilang pag-aaral nang hindi kinakailangang lumabas ng kanilang tahanan.

Sama-sama tayong manalangin na pagkalooban na tayo ng magandang panahon upang makabalik na sa eskwelahan ang ating mga mag-aaral.
