It also allows active participation as children explores and experiments his/her environment. At Sunny Smiles, play is considered here as an essential instrument for learning. It is the most

natural way in which children acquire knowledge. Play is unstructured, but it is thoroughly planned and thought about. Sunny Smiles teachers take significant roles in the learning of the child. However, they are not the givers of knowledge or information, but only assist the process of the child. They plan and prepare the activities and experiences, directing learning following the stages of development. Learning is therefore not achieved mainly from one source - the teacher; but an interaction between teacher and child.
