CITY OF MATI โ Following the 3-day visit of the Commission on Higher Education Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (CHED-OIQAG) and Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on May 10-12, 2021, the Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) is now compliant to operate as a state university.
DOSCST, having been converted to a state university through RA 11033 on May 28, 2018, has been heads-on in conforming with university standards, specifically in the Enrollment and Program Offerings, Faculty Requirements, Research Capability, Learning Resources and Support Structures, and Linkages and Outreach.
Dr. Roy G. Ponce, SUC President III, also shared the institutionโs strategic roadmap to further development, especially in addressing the recommendations of the esteemed validators. The priorities include strengthening the faculty force by proposing more plantilla positions, capacitating faculty through industry immersion, increasing research and extension productivity, among others.
With the validation results, DOSCST is now waiting for the issuance of Certificate of Compliance to operate as a state university, pending the CHED Commission En Banc (CEB) meeting to be held mid-May. DOSCST anticipates becoming a full-fledged university on May 28, 2021.
