Dr. Sumile: "Wherever life may take me, I will always treasure DOSCST"

CITY OF MATI - Dr. Edito B. Sumile, SUC President III of DOSCST, whose second term is ending today, 16 January 2020, delivered his farewell speech before the members of the academic, administrative, and RDE council.
In his speech, Dr. Sumile recognized the unparalleled dedication and commitment to service of the officials who helped him transform the College into its present state. "Thank you for making my presidency more colorful. It could not have been this fun and meaningful if I didn't share my journey with you", he remarked.
Dr. Sumile was elected as DOSCST President in 2012 and was re-appointed to the position after a thorough evaluation of the Board of Trustees (BOT) in 2016. By law, SUC Presidents are allowed to run for 2 terms, having 4 years in each term.
In a span of 8 years, Dr. Sumile face-lifted the physical appearance of the College by constructing multi-million infrastructure projects. He also re-engineered the academic and administrative operations of DOSCST which eventually led to the signing of RA 11033, converting DOSCST into Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), certification of ISO 9001:2015, Bronze Level re-accreditation of the Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO), among many others.
His outstanding contributions in higher education development were recognized in many venues, branding him as a trendsetter, visionary, and dynamic leader.
As he steps down from office, Dr. Sumile recalled all the designations that he issued and deliberated with the Council who will constitute the new workforce. The decision will be presented to the BOT for confirmation.
With his qualifications and in recognition of his commendable performance, Dr. Sumile was appointed as College Professor (SG-29) by the BOT.
Effective January 17, 2020, Dr. Sumile will serve as the OIC President until a new president is duly elected by the BOT. The BOT is yet to announce the official opening of the Search for DOSCST President.

MOST FEISTY, HIGH-SPIRITED AND ORGANIZED CLASS DURING MOTORCADE
MECHANICS:
1. EACH CLASS SHALL PROVIDE THEIR OWN BANNER FOR IDENTIFICATION OF CLASS DURING MOTORCADE.
2. JUDGES ARE POSITIONED TO UNANNOUNCED POSTS OF THE MOTORCADE ROUTES.
3. EACH CLASS SHALL PERFORM THEIR SHORT YELLS AND CHEERS DURING RECOGNITION OF BATCH/CLASS UPON ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE FROM MOTORCADE.
4. CLASS THAT ARE FEISTY, HIGH-SPIRITED, EXUBERANT THE WHOLE TIME (FROM THE START OF THE MOTORCADE UNTIL RECOGNITION OF CLASS IN THE VENUE) YET REMAINS IN ORDER/ ORGANIZED SHALL BE DECLARED AS WINNER.

The official criteria for Memorabilia Competition:
(the same criteria with the previous year's memorabilia competition)
Nostalgia Factor - 30%
The memorabilia imbues sentimental longing for the high school days.
Creativity- 30%
The display projects artistic creativity and comes with originality and innovativeness.
Content - 40%
The exhibit shows the relationship of substance and elements on it.
NOTE: Memoriabilia Competition is per batch. This is the exhibit of high school pictures, certificates, outputs, projects, etc. Each batch will be given a respective corner for the exhibit.

GUIDELINES FOR TABLE SETTING CONTEST
1. ALL PARTICIPANTS SHALL PROVIDE THEIR OWN TABLE;
2. TABLES TO BE USED FOR TABLE SET UP SHOULD CONFINE WITHIN THE SPACE ALLOTTED:
THAT IS, NO TABLE SET UP SHOULD BE OUTSIDE THE PROVIDED SPACE PER CLASS.
3. TABLE SET UP / DECORATIONS SHOULD ADHERE TO THE THEME OF “FIESTA SA NAYON” IN OBSERVANCE TO THE BUWAN NG WIKA ;
4. SETTING UP/DECORATING THE TABLE SHOULD BE DONE IN THE MORNING OF THE EVENT DATE;
5. DECORATIONS THAT CAN OBSTRUCT THE SIGHT OF THE ADJACENT TABLE IS STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED (E.G CLOTH, BALLOONS, PLANTS, PLYBOARD, BOARD AND THE LIKE);
6. ALL PARTICIPANTS SHALL CREATIVELY AND NEATLY PROVIDE THEIR BATCH/CLASS YEAR NAME, MAKING IT VISIBLE FOR THE JUDGES;
7. ALL MENU /DISHES SHALL BE PLACED ON THE TABLE PRIOR TO JUDGING;
8. JUDGING WILL START AT 11 AM OF AUGUST 31, 2019;
9. JUDGING WILL END AT 12 NOON OF AUGUST 31, 2019.

2. Shirt colors of participating entries were already decided during the Alumni Meeting on August 7, 2019. Participating entries can conceptualize their own shirt design according to their choice and ingenuity.
3. DORSHS logo, 11th Founding Anniversary Celebration and the theme “Embracing Differences, Surpassing Challenges, Strengthening Bonds as One Regscians” must be evident in the design.
4. Each entry shall submit their design in JPEG or other equivalent format showing the front and back of the shirt in the Davao Oriental Regional Science High School Alumni Facebook page.
5. The social media (Facebook) standing of all entries shall be considered in the criteria for judging as stated below:
