The second batch of school building assessments was conducted to ensure the continued safety and structural stability of school facilities after the recent earthquake. This activity, carried out by DPWH personnel from various provinces, is a vital part of the comprehensive post-earthquake inspection to verify the integrity of all school buildings. The batch assessment is important as it allows a systematic and thorough evaluation of multiple schools, ensuring that no structure is overlooked and that students and personnel remain safe in their learning environment. Findings from this assessment will guide necessary repairs, retrofitting, or reinforcement measures to maintain compliance with DPWH and DepEd safety standards.

A few hours ago, teachers received training in Psychological First Aid (PFA) in preparation for the resumption of face-to-face classes, following its suspension and the shift to the Alternative Delivery Mode – Distance Learning, due to the Magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Manay. This training equipped them to address students' needs beyond just physical injuries.
The PFA session was participated in by school administrators and teachers from Belsonda ES, Sudlon ES, and Tagawisan ES.
We are grateful to the PFA team, spearheaded by Ms. Fritzie Abad Aparra and Ms. Joselyn Olandria, for their invaluable support.
Together, we will overcome this adversity through resilience and interconnectedness.
