DELNHS Kicks Its Way to Silver at Mati City Division Athletic Meet 2026

Mati City — The Don Enrique Lopez National High School (DELNHS) Sepak Takraw Team proudly claimed 2nd place at the Mati City Division Athletic Meet 2026, held from February 4–6, 2026 at Mati National Comprehensive High School.

Representing Unit 1, Mati North District, the DELNHS squad showcased grit, teamwork, and athletic excellence as they faced strong contenders throughout the tournament. The highly anticipated matchup between Mati National Comprehensive High School and DELNHS kept spectators on edge, with matches running from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, spanning Regu A to Regu C categories.

Despite tough competition, the DELNHS players demonstrated exceptional footwork, coordination, and strategic play—hallmarks of high-level Sepak Takraw. Their consistent performance across regu events ultimately earned them a well-deserved silver finish, marking another proud milestone for the school and the district.

The achievement reflects not only the athletes’ dedication and discipline but also the strong support from coaches, school administrators, and the entire DELNHS community. As the cheers echoed across the court, the team proved that Unit 1, Mati North District, remains a formidable force in division-level athletics.

With this victory, DELNHS continues to raise the banner of sports excellence, inspiring fellow students to strive, compete, and excel—both on and off the court.

MATI CITY — Don Enrique Lopez National High School (DELNHS) delivered a strong and spirited performance during the Mati North District Meet, held from January 7 to 10, 2026, at Paterno Madanlo Matiao Central Elementary School.

The school proudly participated in several sporting events, including volleyball (girls and boys), sepak takraw, athletics, and chess, showcasing the determination, discipline, and teamwork of its student-athletes.

DELNHS emerged victorious in sepak takraw (boys), clinching the championship title after a series of intense matches that highlighted skill, agility, and coordination. The girls’ volleyball team also made the school proud by finishing as 1st runner-up, demonstrating grit and strong team chemistry throughout the tournament. In athletics, a DELNHS athlete secured 1st place in discus throw, adding another medal to the school’s achievements.

The success of the athletes was made possible through the collective support of the school community. DELNHS Wraps Up 2025 With Year-End Thanksgiving Party
Mati City, December 19, 2025.

Don Enrique Lopez National High School (DELNHS) marked the end of the year with a festive Thanksgiving Party filled with performances, games, gift-giving, and holiday messages.
The event opened with the Teachers’ TikTok Christmas Dance Challenge, judged by Brgy. Kag. Naserio Lamonon Jr., SPTA President Eduardo Bentayao, and SPTA VP Yoyong Blas. Three teams competed, with prizes of ₱2,000 (1st), ₱1,300 (2nd), and ₱1,200 (3rd). Red Team placed first followed by Blue Team and Green Team, respectively.
A series of fun parlor games initiated by School Principal Faith U. Syting assisted by selected students boosted camaraderie among teachers before lunch and the exchange of gifts. Everyone also received tokens during the school-wide gift-giving.
In her message, Ma'am Faith Syting, school principal, wished all personnel a merry Christmas and a productive and prosperous New Year, reminding them to take a well-deserved rest so they can return refreshed and renewed for work ahead.
The celebration ended with videoke bonding before officially beginning the Christmas break.
