The 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (BSED – SCIENCE) program is proud to announce its official Logo Design Competition. We are looking for a visual identity that encapsulates the spirit of scientific discovery and the future of science education.

I. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲
The primary goal is to establish a permanent official logo for the BSED Science program. The winning design must visually integrate the major branches of science while emphasizing the program's commitment to scientific inquiry, effective teaching, and the promotion of scientific knowledge.

II. 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀
Who Can Join: The competition is strictly open to all currently enrolled BSED Science students.
Entry Limit: Each participant is permitted to submit only one (1) original logo design.
Submission Format: Entries must be digitally created.

Two-Step Submission Process:
Social Media: Official entries must be submitted through the PISA official page.
Digital Files: Participants must also email the original soft copy (e.g., PSA, Canva link, etc.) to the official PISA email at [email protected].

III. 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 & 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
To ensure your design meets the program's standards, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Scientific Representation: The logo must include symbols or motifs representing 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵/𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Educational Themes: The design should serve as a tribute to scientific inquiry, discovery, and science education.
Mandatory Text: The logo must clearly include the full name: Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science.
AI Prohibition: The use of Generative AI is 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱; all designs must be the result of the student's own creative process.

IV. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 & 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀
The selection of the winner will occur in two distinct phases:

Preliminary Elimination: All entries will be posted on the PISA page. Initial elimination will be based on the total number of reactions received on each post.
Final Faculty Evaluation: The finalists will be evaluated and voted upon by the BSED Science Faculty Members.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲:
A ₱1,000 cash prize.
Recognition as the creator of the Official Logo of BSED Science.

SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES IS OPEN UNTIL MAY 4, 2026

Note: Upon selection, the design becomes the official property of BSED Science for all reproduction and official purposes.

You have this way of being an engaging and kind mentor even from a distance, and we truly appreciate you looking out for us while you conquer your own goals.

𝐃𝐎𝐫𝐒𝐔’𝐬 𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐝-𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐎𝐏𝐂 𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃

We are pleased to announce that the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science (BSEd-Science) program of Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has been granted a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

The COPC is now issued specifically for the BSEd major in Science, separate from the COPC previously granted to the general BSEd program. This recognition affirms that the program complies with CHED standards and supports the continuous strengthening of quality science teacher education.

Our Woman of the Week is 𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼-𝗝𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘇 of Research, Innovation, and Extensions (RIE)! Dr. Lea has always been fond of the marine ecosystem; she feels a deep connection with sea life. From the very beginning, her life has been geared toward the ocean, which is why she loves her work so much. Because of this passion, she chose to pursue marine-related studies, including a degree in Marine Biology.

​Being a marine scientist is both challenging and exciting for her. She has worked with mangroves, various marine species, seagrasses, and oysters to promote conservation. With a strong background in research, she is now happy to share her journey of how she became the Vice President of RIE.

​Women play a broad and essential role in society. In this field, they navigate hardships such as working directly with fishing communities. Leadership and decision-making are vital parts of a woman’s role, as demonstrated by Dr. Lea’s leadership. She believes women bring diverse perspectives, empathy, and collaboration to the table. Societies with women in leadership tend to be more productive, resilient, and inclusive.

​Her message to all women out there:

​"Believe in your power. Embrace your unique voice and be an advocate. Sometimes, society thinks certain tasks can only be handled by men, but that is just a misconception. Women are often expected to do less, but in reality, we can do so much more. Be powerful, be a leader, be an advocate. Be a woman. Happy Women’s Month!"

Dr. Lea really shows how women always figure out how to get through tough times.

Day 2 brought a new wave of energy as every house came together through team building, e-collage, and essay writing. Each activity showcased creativity, cooperation, and the effort everyone gave.

From shared laughs to focused moments, the day added more memories and strengthened the bonds within each house.
