Licensed Environmental Planner, Rotchie M. Ravelo or known by everyone as โKap Rotchieโ is a proud graduate of Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science major in Resource Management, Class of 2002. He completed his Masters in Public Administration majoring Public Policy in Ateneo de Davao University.
During his student days at DOSCST, Kap Rotchie was part of the pioneering member of Pagdungawan Theater and was an active Student Leader serving as Scientia Naturalista Societa-Governor. He also became a Student Supreme Government Senator and later became the Vice President of the governing body of Student Council. It was through this leadership skills that he extended his service as Sangguniang Kabataan Official which opened a big opportunity for him and provided a strong and well-founded connection to the youth.
โWith multidisciplinary approach of the College for their students to meet the demand of the people with scientific leadership skills needed to address enormous challenges, DOSCST harnessed my ability to navigate certain tasks efficiently and effectively. Nonetheless, it honed me to be a man for others, a man for the community and environment, a person that is willing to help and serve. Because committing yourself to do something for your community, is likewise showing love for your country,โ Mr. Ravelo said.
His words for his fellow Tatenians: โSuccessful people maintain good habits that go hand in hand with success in every area of endeavor. Your ability to develop good habits for work even at school determines how much you earn and learn, how effective you are, and how much you are respected in your organization. I believe that God has designed a beautiful plan for you and life is not a problem to be solved but a journey to enjoy and learn from.โ

DepEd-Schools Division Superintendent, Tagum City Division DR. JOSEPHINE L. FADUL is an alumna of Mati Community College with a degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education โ major in Mathematics class 1986.
Looking back at the time when MCC does not have its own site and building, it held its classes in the evening at the Mati National Comprehensive High School. This evening class was an opportune time for her being a working student, as a salesgirl during the day and as a student at night.
On her fourth year, she had to quit her work to be able to focus on her Practice Teaching. In order to sustain her needs in the most challenging and final stage of her college, she put up a small stall near the last gate of MCC to sell candies, pad papers and biscuits and even sell these goods while attending her evening classes.
Despite the deprivation while growing up, Dr. Fadul graduated with flying colors which she believes became her passport for winning a slot in a Graduate School Scholarship Program at the Center for Research and Communication, Pasig (now University of the Asia and the Pacific).
โIt was my Alma Mater which inspired me to see that thereโs more to life than that of my small community. MCC (during my college days) and DOSCST (during my stint as a professor) both helped me to be a friend, a child, a wife, a mother, an educator, a public servant trying to make great strides to maintain a balance and harmony of the hectic schedule and demands of home, of work, of social life and community. I am not who I am now had it not been because of MCC and DOSCST.โ
Her words of motivation to DOrSU Community: โDo not allow poverty to make you feel indifferent with life. โAt this point in my life, it taught me other dimensions that one does not need to have much money to rise and succeed. To be respected, to lead by good example, to be an inspiration, and to be happy is the true meaning of life.โ, Dr. Fadul concluded.
