Kumustahan sa Paaralan is a meaningful initiative that brings the District closer to every school by listening, connecting, and responding to their needs. Anchored on the theme, “Empowering Schools through Coaching, Mentoring, and Collaborative Leadership toward a Mas MATATAG na Bangsamoro,” it strengthens collaboration, support, and shared leadership toward better school performance and improved learning outcomes for every learner.

Today, August 10, 2026, we successfully concluded our Kumustahan sa Paaralan at Dimapatoy Primary School with joy, laughter, meaningful conversations, and a strong spirit of collaboration. This initiative, spearheaded by our District Coordinating Principal, Dr. Nihayma P. Macasindil, aims to strengthen the connection between the District and schools, listen to their needs, and provide meaningful support toward a stronger and more empowered school community.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the teaching force of Dimapatoy Primary School for their warm welcome and gracious hospitality. Special thanks to their School Head, Ma’am Linang G. Mimbantas, for the delicious food and snacks and for making our visit even more meaningful and enjoyable.

On behalf of the faculty, parents, learners, and stakeholders of Acopa Primary School, we are honored and grateful to participate in the Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program in compliance with Division Memorandum No. 020, Series of 2026, Conduct of Brigada Eskwela Activities.

This year's theme, "Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman," reminds us that education is a shared responsibility. Through cooperation, volunteerism, and strong partnerships, we can create a learning environment that is safe, clean, and conducive to learning for every child.

At this moment, Acopa Primary School would like to express its sincerest gratitude to all the individuals and institutions who continuously support our educational endeavors.

First, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Rubina Mimbantas Macabunar , for her exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment, and guidance in promoting quality education throughout the division. Your dedication inspires us to strive for excellence in serving our learners.

We would also like to thank our Adopt-A-School Supervisor, Dr. Aminah Solaiman, for her valuable support and commitment in strengthening partnerships between schools and stakeholders in our District.

Our profound gratitude is likewise extended to our District Coordinating Principal, Dr. Nihayma PM Nihayma P. Macasindil, whose leadership and continuous encouragement have greatly contributed to the success of our district programs and initiatives.

FIRST BARMM PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION: IS THE RUMORED MASS HIRING OF VOLUNTEER TEACHERS CONNECTED TO IT?

The circulating plan to conduct a mass hiring of volunteer teachers in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) has become a topic of discussion on social media and in various public forums.

According to information circulating online, the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) may undertake a large-scale recruitment of teachers, with current volunteer teachers allegedly being given priority for available positions.

The issue gained attention following statements made during discussions at the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), where calls were made to provide permanent positions for volunteer teachers. During a committee hearing, Member of Parliament Dr. Susana Anayatin emphasized the need to hire volunteer teachers as soon as possible, saying that doing so could help improve the quality of education in the region.

However, it is important to clarify that volunteer teachers are not employees of the MBHTE. They are hired and compensated by their respective local government units (LGUs) and are not directly funded under the ministry’s regular plantilla positions.

Some netizens and aspiring teacher-applicants have also expressed concern that if volunteer teachers are given priority for all available positions, other qualified applicants who are not part of the volunteer program may have fewer opportunities to compete for government teaching posts.

At the same time, questions have been raised about whether the reported hiring initiative is connected to the first-ever BARMM Parliamentary Election scheduled for September 14. For some observers, the timing of the proposed mass hiring and the large number of volunteer teachers who could be affected by it have inevitably led to political speculation.

Currently, Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua oversees the MBHTE. Several officials advocating for the immediate hiring of volunteer teachers are considered political allies of the Chief Minister.

As of this writing, the MBHTE has yet to issue an official announcement regarding the reported mass hiring of volunteer teachers, including the number of positions that may be opened and the specific recruitment process to be followed. | News Center PH
