DEBESMSCAT Brings Christmas Cheer to 400 Non-Scholarship Students Through Noche Buena Aid

December 19, 2025 - In the spirit of compassion and inclusivity this Christmas season, the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT) has successfully distributed Noche Buena packages to 400 identified and qualified students who are not beneficiaries of any scholarship program.

The initiative was led by the Office of the President under SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, in close coordination with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS). The distribution was carried out following the completion of the studentsโ€™ final examinations, ensuring that assistance reached its intended recipients in a timely and organized manner.

According to OSAS Director Ms. Grace Abella, the beneficiaries were carefully identified to prioritize students who have limited access to financial assistance. She emphasized that the program aims to ensure that no student is left behind during the holiday season, particularly those who continue their studies without the support of scholarships or grants.

The Noche Buena packages were made possible through pooled donations from various generous individuals and organizations, including support from the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC). The collaboration highlights strong inter-institutional solidarity and a shared commitment to advancing student welfare beyond institutional boundaries.

Dr. Millesca noted that the initiative reflects DEBESMSCATโ€™s enduring commitment to fostering compassion, unity, and shared responsibility within the academic community. He added that programs such as this embody the Collegeโ€™s core values and its mantra, โ€œTogether, Everyone Achieves More,โ€ especially during meaningful occasions like Christmas.

LOOK: The Office of the President of the Dr. Emilio B. Espinosa, Sr. Memorial State College of Agriculture and Technology (DEBESMSCAT), led by SUC President III Dr. Arnel B. Millesca, in coordination with the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), has begun repacking and preparing Noche Buena packages to be distributed to qualified students.

The assistance is intended for students who are not beneficiaries of any scholarship program, ensuring that they are also able to receive support during the holiday season.

The initiative underscores the Collegeโ€™s commitment to promoting fairness and inclusivity among the student population, particularly for those who may have limited access to financial assistance.

According to the OSAS Director, Ms. Grace Abella, the Noche Buena packages will be distributed on Friday, following the final examination schedule, to identified and qualified recipients.

The additional assistance was made possible through pooled donations from various generous organizations and individuals, as well as from the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Camarines Norte State College (CNSC), further strengthening inter-institutional solidarity in supporting studentsโ€™ welfare.

Dr. Millesca stated the initiative reflects the institutionโ€™s continued efforts to foster compassion, unity, and shared responsibility within the academic community, especially during the Christmas season.
