Nov 20 2025 New Community School Partnership: Calpi Elementary School

Location: Barangay Calpi, Claveria Municipality, Clarevia North District, Masbate Province

Geo-location: Burias Island

Calpi Elementary School with its 161 students (SY 2025) are supported by 7 teachers and 2 non-teaching personnel. The school was founded in 1963 and through its central location within the rural agricultural lands of the barangay it serves as the focal point of education in its vicinity.

The place is named after the fruit tree "calpi" once abundant in this area by Bicolano and Cebuano settlers. With a population of 1,184 which is 2.81% of the overall municipality, through the years the numbers show signs of decline.

Students within this barangay, upon graduation move on towards the nearby Mababangbaybay seeking further studies.

In these commonly agricultural lands the conflicting pressures between education and agricultural subsistence persists especially during harvesting seasons.

It is in these basic conditions that LHP has partnered with the team of teachers and parents to help fill and build their library collection.

Pinapaalalahanan din ang publiko na mag-ingat sa mga lugar na maaari pa ring maapektuhan ng baha, landslide, o iba pang epekto ng bagyo, at manatiling nakatutok sa mga opisyal na abiso ng PDRRMO, PAGASA, at ng kani-kanilang LGU.

Ang inyong pakikiisa at disiplina ay patunay ng ating pagkakaisa bilang mga Masbateño. Sama-sama tayong babangon tungo sa mas ligtas at matatag na Masbate.
