𝗙𝗜𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

The Philippines is once again facing the devastating fury of the current typhoons; 𝘓𝘶𝘪𝘴 and 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘮𝘢𝘺 since the start of August. Yet amidst the destruction, many people continue to praise Filipinos for being 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 and overcoming the hardships they are forced to endure.
But maybe it is time to ask: 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑤𝑒 𝐹𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑜𝑠 𝑎𝑙𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑏𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑎𝑑𝑎𝑝𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑚 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑡 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑒𝑎𝑠𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑑?

Resiliency is not just who we are, it is a consequence for the choices we did not choose to make. Let's stop romanticizing pain and suffering and start normalizing responsibility.
𝗪𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, not by the floods but by the unfulfilled promises that were once made, promises that have seemed to wash away leaving us ordinary Filipinos to pick up the pieces once again.

How many more homes must be flooded? How many more communities should be submerged? How many more livelihoods should be lost, before resiliency stops being a praise and the governments action actually take place?

𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲.

Amidst worsening climate conditions, there is one thing that never goes unhidden: clogged canals and obstructed streets. Yet, human responsibility, the sole thing that could greatly help prevent it seems nowhere to be seen.

Wʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀs ɪᴛ ɢᴏɴᴇ?

According to Tian et al (2025), 400 million tons of hazardous landwaste is produced every year, posing health concerns on countless people worldwide. Aside from this, there are also grappling effects on the water we drink, natural ecosystems, and the soil our farmers plant on. However, what could we do to help prevent this?

As students, there is a lot of simple things we could practice such as waste segregation, avoiding littering on public areas, using long-time use items, and most importantly, maintaining discipline. Those are just some of what we could do, and each one could provide a strong step towards a cleaner future. So, let's all be 𝙋𝙤𝙗𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙘𝙤-𝙙𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙨 who are environmentally aware and acts according to their responsibility.

Bilang pag-iingat sa inaasahang malakas at tuloy-tuloy na pag-ulan dulot ng Habagat, ipinapaalam sa lahat na suspendido ang klase bukas, Huwebes, 13 Agosto 2026, sa lahat ng antas ng pampubliko at pribadong paaralan sa Bayan ng Mariveles.

Ang suspensyon ng klase ay batay sa opisyal na pahayag ni Mayor AJ Concepcion, bilang hakbang upang mapangalagaan ang kaligtasan ng mga mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani ng mga paaralan.

Hinihikayat din ang lahat ng paaralan na ipatupad ang mga angkop na alternative modes of learning habang suspendido ang face-to-face classes, alinsunod sa kanilang mga itinakdang learning arrangements.

📌 Patuloy na subaybayan ang mga opisyal na anunsyo at abiso mula sa Pamahalaang Bayan ng Mariveles, mga paaralan, at iba pang kinauukulang ahensya para sa mga susunod na update.
