PARIS 2024 OLYMPICS: Gymnast Yulo snags 2 gold medals; PH skyrockets in rankings

PARIS, France - Yulo possesses the Midas touch, initiating a bountiful haul.

Showcasing incredible performances in both floor and vault events, Carlos Yulo struck two consecutive golds in the Bercy Arena last August 3 and 4, writing history with his medal-worthy tricks and flips.

“Today I was more chilled and relaxed. It helped me give it all because there was nothing to lose anymore. And that’s what happened. It’s so crazy, I don’t know what to feel right now.”, the medalist said after emerging victorious for the second time.

In the floor event, he successfully completed a three-and-a-half twist dismount scoring him a mindblowing score of 15 flat, starting his golden heist.

The day after, Yulo presumed with his Midas touch with another medal after scoring a whopping 15.116 overall.

This was built up by his flawless first vault garnering a score of 15.433 followed up by a slight mishap on the landing during the second vault which led to a score of 14.8.

With the Golden Boy's successful conquest, the Philippines' rank shot up to no. 19 last August 3 and is currently at no. 21.

He continues to thank his suppporters and the Lord Almighty for his victory and is looking forward to returning home soon.
