When there's fake, there's a fact

25/09/2022

When we were little, our parents would frequently threaten that if we lied, our noses would grow long as Pinocchio's did when he lied. The fact that time passes does not indicate that our noses will grow longer; rather, the guilt kills us from the inside.

This commandment keeps demonstrating to us how God wants us to respond in social situations. Furthermore, we must always tell the truth as it is. The Bible states that this commandment "flows from the calling of the holy people to witness to God who is the truth and wills the truth."
Therefore, lying to our neighbor is definitely a bad idea. A sin and a contravention of God's word is deceiving other people.

"Taking another person's property without his or her consent" is the definition of theft. This commandment's (7th and 10th) purpose is to correctly broaden throughout history from its initial emphasis on kidnapping individuals to include the stealing of property, which is necessary for human freedom.
These respect for human dignity, as expressed through the Seventh Commandment, has clear implications for us. Theft is forbidden. Theft is defined as "usurping another’s property against the reasonable will of the owner." This prohibition remains intact even if a particular act does not contradict civil law.

The 10th commandment against wanting anything that is not one's own: "You must not desire your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his cow or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor." One of the commandments mentioned above, such as murder, adultery, or theft, can be broken as a result of coveting. If doing something is evil, desiring to do the same thing is also wrong.

God has given us one life and we must cherish it and live it to the fullest according to God’s Will. He made man and woman in order to build a family. As a child of God, we must not destroy someone’s family just for lust and desire because at the end of the day, sin is a sin. Coveting a neighbor's wife or husband should not be tolerated. It is derogative not just to the family, but most especially to God’s commandments. Thus, loving our family and partner should be genuine. Faithfulness should be seen and God should be the center of all relationships.

We all know that to kill is a sin. It is inimical not just to God but to the law. Even how bad or severe the conflict is, never ever kill someone. Same as with ourselves, even how difficult the situation is, don’t think that su***de is the final way to end all of those. God did not give us a problem that cannot be solved. There’s always an answer, there’s always a way. Thus, killing someone or ourselves will never be a solution to end a problem.

Probably there are times that we hate our parents. We think that they burden our freedom and keep us away from happiness. However, this is just their way to express to us their love and care. No matter what happens, our parents will be our shoulder to lean on.

Respecting our parents is not just a tradition or culture but a must. It is crucial as we must respect the community as well. It is not just a value for Catholics but for all the community. Our parents are the best gift that God has given to us. Hence, we must obey and honor our mother and father as we obey and honor our Creator.

We all know that the seventh day of the week is our rest day. Rest from all the overload work we’ve conquered throughout the week. However, this rest was not an absence of work; when God stopped working, He created something new, something which was not there before rest. Such as tranquility, serenity, peace and repose. Thus, we as a Catholic and a member of a community, must never forget the Lord’s Day.

1st and 2nd commandment: God as our only God

“The First Commandment calls us to have faith in the true God, to hope in Him, and to love Him fully with mind, heart, and will." We respond to God, who has created and redeemed us and extends His providential care to us every minute of each day. The First Commandment fosters the virtue of religion that moves us to adore God alone because He alone is Holy and worthy of our praise.” - twim-5-35-Catechetical-Corner.pdf (catholiccurrent.org)

A kind God yearns for a close connection with humans. He even took on human form in the person of Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Spirit, he now inhabits us. In the Gospel of John, Jesus uses the pronoun "I am" to identify himself. In the Gospel of John, he connects himself to God (cf. Jn 8:58). He distinguishes himself from only two people: his Father, whom he will send to the world after his Resurrection, and the Holy Spirit. -
