The MPC - Office of Student Affairs and Services proudly celebrates the forging of a meaningful partnership with Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College held on May 14,2026.
MPC, OLOPSC Forge Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Student Workforce Readiness
Marikina Polytechnic College and Our Lady of Perpetual Succor College officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a Student Immersion Program on May 14, 2026. The signing ceremony, held at the OLOPSC campus, marks a significant shift in local education toward the Commission on Higher Educationโs (CHED) mandate of transforming training venues into "pedagogical partnersโ.
In his Message of Commitment and Partnership, MPC President Rene M. Colocar emphasized that the college is committed to providing more than just basic supervision. โWhen I first reviewed the proposal for this Student Immersion Program, one word kept coming back to me: โhanapbuhayโ. But not just any livelihood- maayos at makabuluhang hanapbuhay. MPC has always been proud of our โmarunong gumawaโ brand of education. We are not merely signing a document. We are building a bridge - a bridge between theory and practice, between the classroom and the real world, between our two institutions and the future of our students,โ Pres. Colocar stated. This response operationalizes the national goal of human capital development championed by CHED Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis at the recent Higher Education Summit 2026.
The three-year partnership establishes a comprehensive framework where OLOPSC Senior High School students from both the Academic and Technical-Vocational Track/Cluster will undergo between 80 to 320 hours of specialized training within MPCโs facilities and offices. The said agreement ensures that the work immersion is directly relevant to the students' future courses and professions.
OLOPSC President Dr. Armida Salvador-Samaniego expressed optimism regarding the collaboration, stating it would open professional doors for their SHS students. The day served as a dual milestone for OLOPSC, as the institution also celebrated the official launch of the College of Business, Management, Science, and Education later that afternoon.
Office of Student Affairs Director Prof. Rialita A. Villareรฑa emphasized that this initiative underscores MPCโs commitment to community engagement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. She said, โIt also advances national workforce readiness. By aligning with industry standards and instilling essential skills and values, we prepare students to be skilled Filipino workforce.โ
Also in attendance are OLOPSC Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Angelie Marie Vizconde, SHS Principal Ms. Jevilyn B.Candelario, Immersion Chair Ms. Liesel Peregrino, MPC Board Secretary Dr. Renylin M. Udaundo, Records and Information Center Director Dr. Menere R. Nasiad, and Recruitment, Executive Assistant Prof. Wieson DG. Resultan and Vocational Placement Coordinator Prof. Maria Rosario C. Somera.
