PSLINK - Publik - National Public Workers’ Congress welcomes the approval on Second Reading of the proposed Right to Information (RTI) Act of 2026 in the House of Representatives on May 26, 2026—a significant step forward in the long-standing fight for transparency, accountability and open governance. ✊📢

PSLINK was present at the session of the House of Representatives during this crucial moment, standing in solidarity with fellow advocates and reform champions as the measure moved forward. This milestone reflects the collective efforts of civil society, people's organizations, and progressive lawmakers who have pushed relentlessly for the people’s right to know.

As a long-time member of the Right to Know Right Now Coalition (R2KRN), PSLINK has consistently campaigned for the passage of a Freedom of Information law that empowers workers and communities, strengthens democratic participation, and holds those in power accountable.

SC: Arbitrary Reduction of Workdays May Constitute Constructive Dismissal

The Supreme Court (SC) ruled that employers cannot arbitrarily reduce employees’ workdays or impose flexible work arrangements without complying with labor safeguards required by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). In a Decision penned by Associate Justice Amy C. Lazaro-Javier, the Court stressed that reduced workdays resulting in diminished pay and benefits do not enjoy any presumption of validity and may constitute constructive dismissal when implemented without genuine business necessity, proper employee consultation, and compliance with DOLE requirements.
