The Youth for Mary and Christ
It started in 1976 as a Catholic youth group in the public high schools of Metropolitan Manila known as the Youth Marian Crusade (YMC). This youth group had spread not only within Metro-Manila but in the nearby provinces of Rizal and Laguna and eventually in the province of Negros Occidental in the southern island group of the Visayas. The YMC went on to be acknowled
ged as one of the largest campus ministries in the Philippines. To ensure that indeed fraternal, praying, apostolic and Christian communities are being established in their respective school chapters, activities and community gatherings are held to deepen their appreciation of their Christian faith and as well as to strengthen the camaraderie among members and their individual commitment.. Members of the movement often describe its activities as "enjoyable" -a testimony that Christian discipleship is a better alternative than the harmful ideologies that are springing up and adapted by the youth in this modern age.
