Noong ika-27 na Pangkaraniwang Sesyon ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Marikina ay naipasa ang Ordinansa para sa Birthday Cash Gift sa mga Senior Citizens ng Lungsod ng Marikina.

"Ordinance Increasing the Grant of Birthday Cash Gift to all bonafide Senior Citizens in the City of Marikina City and appropriating funds therefor"

Malugod kong ipinababatid sa inyo, mahal naming mga Senior Citizens ng Lungsod ng Marikina, na magkakaroon kayo ng karagdagang Birthday Cash Gift bilang espesyal naming handog sa inyong kaarawan.
Simula Agosto 1, 2024, bawat isa sa inyo ay makakatanggap ng karagdagang Php 1,000.00 sa inyong birthday cash gift, kaya’t magiging Php 2,000.00 na ang kabuuang matatanggap ng ating mga mahal na Seniors.
Ang simpleng handog na ito ay hindi lamang isang financial benefit; ito ay isang pagkilala at pagpapahalaga sa inyong naging bahagi sa paghubog ng ating lungsod.
Sa ating tradisyon ng pagbabahagi ng biyaya sa pamilya, ituring ninyo na ang simpleng regalong ito ay sumisimbolo ng walang-hanggang paghanga at respeto ng ating lungsod sa inyo. Ito ay isang regalo na hindi lamang magbibigay saya sa inyo, kundi maibabahagi rin ang selebrasyon na ito sa inyong mga mahal sa buhay—mga anak, apo, at mga apo sa tuhod.
Kaya’t sa ating mga minamahal na Senior Citizens, kasama ko ang buong Lungsod ng Marikina, nagpapaabot po kami ng Maligayang Kaarawan!
Nawa’y maging masaya, makulay, at puno ng pagdiriwang ang inyong mga araw.

Noong July 26, 2024 ay nagkaroon ng special session ang Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Marikina upang magpasa ng isang Resolusyon alinsunod sa rekomendasyon ng Metro Manila Council na sumailalim sa State of Calamity.

"Resolution Declaring Marikina City Under a State of Calamity due to the onslaught of Typhoon Carina and the Southwest moonsoon"
Kung kailangan po ninyo ng certified copy ay maaari po kayong magtungo sa 2nd Floor City Council Secretariat Office, Marikina Legislative Building para makakuha ng kopya ng Resolusyon o kung hindi naman ay maaari po itong madownload dito sa page na ito.

Marikina PIO FB page na-hack!
Nakakalungkot isipin ngunit sadyang may mga indibidwal o grupo na sumisira sa tahimik at maayos nating paglilingkod sa mga taga-Marikina.
Ang hindi nila lubusang nauunawaan ay tayong mga taga-Marikina ang apektado at napeperwisyo sa pag hack ng Marikina PIO FB Page.
Pero hindi nila tayo mapipigilan, tuloy ang paglilingkod.
Pansamantala, pwede kayong magmessage sa FB Page Marikina City Rescue 161 para sa inyong pangangailangan.
Babala po sa mga nasa likod nito. Mananagot kayo sa PNP at sa mga taga-Marikina na inaabala ninyo.

Pormal na iginawad sa Lungsod ng Marikina ang Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) mula sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ngayong araw.
Tinanggap ni Mayor Marcy Teodoro mula kay DILG Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin ang pagkilala na sumisimbolo sa katapatan at kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Marikina, at pagsisikap nito na maibigay ang pinakamataas na antas ng pamamahala partikular sa mga sumusunod na larangan: Financial Administration and Sustainability; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection and Sensitivity; Health Compliance and Responsiveness; Sustainable Education; Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness; Safety, Peace and Order; Environmental Management; Tourism, Heritage Development. Culture and the Arts; at Youth Development.
Ang okasyon ay dinaluhan din ni Vice Mayor Marion Andres at mga miyembro ng Sangguniang Panlungsod, DILG-Marikina sa pangunguna ni City Director Mary Jane Nacario, mga pinuno ng mga ahensya ng pamahalaan sa Marikina, at mga pinuno ng tanggapan ng Pamahalaang Lungsod.
