Before the evening settled in, there was already a worksheet for Thali with Kal, her little brother eager to "study" too. Their favorite worship song playing in the background, and two children happily holding unplugged microphones as if learning and singing naturally belonged together.

It was one of those ordinary moments that quietly reminds us what homeschooling can be.

Learning doesn't wait for a schedule or a classroom. It happens in the little moments God gives throughout the day — in conversations, in songs, in questions, in play, and in the faithful presence of parents who are intentionally shaping their children.

Every child is wonderfully unique. The Bagatua Family loves music, and you can see how naturally that gift finds its way into learning. Rather than setting aside who their children are, they embrace it. They teach through it. They delight in it.

That's one of the beautiful freedoms of homeschooling.

Because learning isn't just about finishing a worksheet. It's about cultivating hearts, stewarding gifts, and redeeming everyday moments for God's glory.

Sometimes, the moments we never planned become the ones we'll remember the longest.

Rainy day? Learning doesn't have to stop.

While classes are suspended, Scarlet is having fun learning about points, lines, line segments, and rays!

A special shoutout to Momma Ritz, who is homeschooling on their 2nd year, while caring for a baby boy. ❤️ It's a beautiful reminder that homeschooling is about faithfully making the most of each day, one lesson at a time.

Every homeschool year tells a story.

Not just of completed lessons or finished modules, but of prayers whispered over breakfast, difficult days that taught perseverance, unexpected victories, and God's faithfulness through every season.

That's why every enrolled BHS family receives a Family Journal.

More than a planner, it is a companion for the journey.

Throughout the year, families are invited to pause and reflect together:
• Why has God called us to homeschool?
• What kind of family are we praying to become?
• What goals are we pursuing together?
• How are we doing halfway through the year?
• Where have we seen God's faithfulness?

Because homeschooling isn't only about educating children. It's about intentionally building a Christ-centered family, one conversation, one prayer, and one ordinary day at a time.

Years from now, we hope our families won't just remember what they studied. We pray they'll remember how God led them.

A new school year brings our hearts and minds anchored in a powerful theme: Transform.

Guided by Colossians 2:6-7, our mission goes beyond academic success. We are committed to seeing our Berean learners rooted and built up in character, faith, and knowledge, fully equipped to impact the world around them.

BCI Marikina believes that true transformation is a shared journey. We are grateful to partner with our God-chosen Berean community for another academic year. Let’s make it purposeful all for God’s glory.

Welcome to Academic Year 2026–2027!

Today marks the beginning of another homeschool year, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with families who have been called to homeschool.

At Berean Homeschool, July is our onboarding month. A time to prepare, connect, and begin the year with confidence before lessons officially start.

If you’ve already enrolled, here’s a quick checklist:

Take your time. The goal isn’t to rush into lessons but to prepare your home and establish rhythms that will support meaningful learning throughout the year.

Many parents who are considering homeschooling ask the same questions:

"Can I really do this?"

"Am I qualified?"

"What if I fail my child?"

The Nidua family shared that they once wrestled with those same fears.

Before homeschooling, they chose a traditional school because of uncertainty. But through God's providence, the opportunity to homeschool came, and what began with hesitation became an act of faith and obedience.

Calling does not mean the journey will be easy. It means trusting that the One who calls is also the One who gives grace.

As parents, we are not called to do everything perfectly. We are called to faithfully steward the children God has entrusted to us, relying on Him day by day.

As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us:

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

If God is calling your family to homeschool, remember this: your confidence does not have to rest in yourself. It rests in the God who faithfully equips those He calls.

CALLED TO TEACH. CALLED TO DISCIPLE.

Featuring the Testimony of the Nidua Family, Homeschooling Since 2020

Every homeschool journey has a story. Some begin with confidence. Others begin with questions, fears, and uncertainty.

For the Nidua family, homeschooling was not part of their original plan. Yet through God's providence, what once seemed unlikely became an opportunity to obey His call as parents.

At our BHS Year End Ceremony, Team Nidua shared how the Lord faithfully led their family through the challenges, joys, tears, growth, and grace of homeschooling.

Over the next few posts, we invite you to journey with them as they reflect on what it means to teach diligently, disciple intentionally, and trust God through every season of homeschooling.

DIFFERENT IS NOT DEFICIENT.
A Perspective on Homeschooling (2/7)

"A different pace does not mean falling behind."

One of the quiet pressures many students carry is the feeling that they must keep up. Keep up with the lesson. Keep up with the class. Keep up with everyone else.

But children do not all learn at the same pace.

Some need more time to master a concept. Others are ready to move ahead. Many simply need a different approach.

At BHS, we believe growth is not measured by uniformity. A child who takes longer to understand is not necessarily behind. A child who learns differently is not necessarily struggling.

The goal is not to move as quickly as possible, but to grow steadily in wisdom, understanding, and confidence.

Homeschooling may look different. But different does not mean deficient.
