𝗠𝗣𝗖 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗦𝟭 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

On 13 December 2025, the Marikina Polytechnic College ROTC Unit successfully conducted the culmination of Military Science 1 (MS1) ROTC Training for School Year 2025–2026, marking the completion of the 15th and final Saturday of ROTC training.

The MS1 ROTC training program consisted of fifteen (15) Saturdays of progressive instruction, combining classroom lectures, practical exercises, and close order drills. These activities were designed to develop the cadets’ military knowledge, discipline, physical fitness, leadership potential, and sense of patriotism, in accordance with the prescribed ROTC Program of Instruction. During the culmination activity, the MPC ROTC Unit administered the Final Examination for MS1 cadets to evaluate their comprehension and mastery of the subjects covered throughout the semester. The examination included topics on military discipline, customs and courtesies, close order drills, basic military concepts, and ROTC fundamentals. This was followed by Commandant’s Time, during which MAJ RUSTAN B OFALSA (ARM) PA, Commandant of the MPC ROTC Unit, commended the MS1 cadets for their perseverance, discipline, and active participation throughout the training cycle. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Cadet Officers for their dedication and professionalism in guiding, mentoring, and supervising the cadets during training activities and examinations. MAJ OFALSA emphasized the importance of good character, discipline, and commitment, not only within ROTC but also in academic pursuits and personal life. He encouraged the MS1 cadets to continue their ROTC journey as MS2 cadets in the succeeding semester, highlighting that ROTC serves as a foundation for leadership development, responsibility, resilience, and national service. His message inspired the cadets to remain motivated and steadfast as they move forward in their ROTC training and personal development.

The ROTC cadets of MPC took part in the celebration of the 90th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines through the 8th RESCOM-wide Blood Donation Activity, with the theme: “Dugong Buhay, aming alay bilang mga makabagong bayani tungo sa matatag na sandigan ng Bagong Pilipinas.”

This meaningful activity demonstrated that the ROTC program is an organization that genuinely cares for others and remains steadfast in its commitment to serve the country with honor, discipline, and selfless dedication.

𝗢𝗻 𝟮𝟵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲.

Sgt Rene V Arcillas (FS) PA spearheaded the session by revisiting the crucial components of the M16 rifle. He underscored its functions, characteristics, and operational significance. The MS1 basic cadets, participating in the M16 assembly-disassembly RAATI activity, also contributed their knowledge and experiences related to assembling and disassembling the M16 rifle, fostering peer-to-peer learning and leadership initiative. SSg Noel Glenn M Alojipan PA (Res) conducted a briefing on weapon familiarization, ensuring the cadets comprehended the safety protocols and the importance of handling fi****ms with respect and precision.

The entire Training Staff, along with the Cadet Officers, took the lead in the hands-on training. They demonstrated the correct and systematic procedures for assembling and disassembling both the M16 and M14 rifles. The cadets actively participated, displaying enthusiasm and determination to master the skill. A friendly challenge was introduced among pairs—a timed assembly and disassembly exercise—adding excitement and healthy competition to the training. This activity not only enhanced their technical proficiency but also strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and confidence in handling military weapons.

Following the practical exercises, the cadets were given the opportunity to take photographs holding the rifles by platoon. This moment was filled with joy and pride as they cherished the unique experience of handling real M16 and M14 rifles. The photographs served as lasting mementos of their growth, discipline, and progress as future leaders.
