The search for the next generation of Marcos National High School (MNHS) campus journalists began yesterday, August 8, 2025, as the school conducted the official screening for aspiring editorial board members of ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐จ๐ง (English) and ๐ผ๐ฃ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐๐ค๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ๐ง๐๐ฌ (Filipino) from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the 3rd floor of the SHS Building.
Facilitated by the English and Filipino teachers in collaboration with the current editorial staff, the screening assessed applicantsโ skills in their chosen journalistic fields. Applicants were given writing and production tasks designed to measure their creativity, accuracy, and ability to work under time pressure. Each task was aligned with the standards set for school-based journalism competitions, ensuring that the selected editors and staff are prepared for both internal publication work and interschool press conferences.
The results of the screening will determine the official editorial boards for SY 2025โ2026. Once selected, the new teams will begin training and editorial planning to continue the mission of the publications in informing, inspiring, and empowering the MNHS community.
