𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗘𝗨, 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 3𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹-𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺

In a formal ceremony marking the conclusion of the 2nd Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium 2025, host university Mindanao State University (MSU), in partnership with TBTI Philippines, officially transferred the honor and responsibility of hosting the 3rd iteration of the symposium to Batangas State University, The National Engineering University.

The symbolic handover was officially announced by Dr. Glen A. Lorenzo, MSU System Vice President for Research and Extension, and was assisted by Dr. Clement C. Camposano, Chancellor of UP Visayas, the transfer was then received by Dr. Enrico M. Dalangin, Chancellor of BatStateU The NEU - ARASOF Nasugbu, on behalf of Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, BatStateU The NEU President, at the International Convention Center, MSU Main Campus, on October 23.

Dr. Dalangin, speaking on behalf of President Ronquillo, conveyed his message of acceptance, stating, "On behalf of Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, I am deeply honored to accept the privilege of hosting the 3rd Philippines Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium. This carries profound meaning for us, not only because of the trust it represents, but because it resonates deeply with our identity, our mandate, and our commitment to national development."

The Small-Scale Fisheries National Symposium, organized annually by Too Big To Ignore (TBTI) Philippines, serves as a vital platform for fishers, scientists, policymakers, LGU representatives, and scholars to discuss research, development, and actionable solutions for the sustainability of small-scale fisheries.
