A respected academic leader, educator, researcher, and curriculum specialist, Dr. Mama-Marohombsar currently serves as the 𝑫𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 – 𝑴𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔.

With nearly two decades of service at MSU, Dr. Mama-Marohombsar has held key leadership positions including Special Assistant to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, College Secretary, Chairperson of the Elementary Teaching Department, and Chairperson of the College Curriculum Committee. Her extensive experience in academic administration and curriculum development has contributed significantly to strengthening teacher education and institutional quality assurance.

As a researcher, she has conducted and published studies on educational management, intercultural communication, language education, and teacher preparation. She is also an active member of various professional organizations and serves as an accreditor of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACUP).

MARAWI CITY — Mindanao State University (MSU), through its College of Education (CED), honored its topnotchers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) during the 6th Teacher Education Institutions (TEI) Student Congress held on May 26, 2026, at the MSU International Convention Center.

The awarding ceremony was led by 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗣. 𝗗. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗖𝗣𝗔, who conferred certificates of recognition and institutional incentives to five MSU-CED graduates who secured top ranks in the national examination.

For the Secondary Level, the honorees were Jasmine D. Alimosa (Top 3), Nahida G. Ansari (Top 5), and Eidreff P. Mendoza (Top 9), while Sittie Jainah M. Disumimba (Top 8 ) and Yahya G. Domaub (Top 10) were recognized for the Elementary Level.

The incentives, granted in accordance with Board of Regents-approved policies, were given in acknowledgment of their exemplary academic performance.

The recognition highlights MSU’s continued commitment to academic excellence and its strong support for producing highly competent and globally competitive educators.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗼, 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿 — The Department of Home Economics of the College of Education, Mindanao State University Main Campus, successfully conducted Session 2 on Hydroponic Gardening under its flagship extension project, “𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙜𝙤𝙥𝙖 3.0: 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨,” at Barangay Palao, Marantao, Lanao del Sur, last May 22, 2026.

The extension initiative, spearheaded by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱 𝗥. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗻, 𝗟𝗣𝗧 together with the faculty members who are present, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗧𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗼𝗿-𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗠. 𝗜𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, and students of the Department of Home Economics, aimed to equip community members with practical knowledge and hands-on skills in 𝙝𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘 𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜—an innovative and sustainable farming method that supports food security, environmental sustainability, and household self-sufficiency.

The training featured 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗧𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗼, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗘, Chairperson of the Department of Home Economics, as the resource speaker. She shared valuable insights on the fundamentals, advantages, and practical applications of hydroponic gardening, emphasizing its role in promoting sustainable food production and empowering communities to adopt modern agricultural practices even in limited spaces.

Prior to the workshop proper, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗡𝗼𝗿-𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗵 𝗝𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗠. 𝗜𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗺, 𝗟𝗣𝗧 facilitated a comprehensive recap of Session 1, reinforcing key concepts and reflecting on the positive outcomes and community engagement achieved during the previous training activity.

The success of the program was made possible through the collaborative efforts and unwavering support of the Barangay Officials of Palao and the dedicated RASFI Volunteers, whose active participation and assistance ensured the smooth conduct of the workshop. Likewise, 𝗕𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 (𝗖𝗛𝗘) served as facilitators, guiding participants throughout the hands-on activities and exemplifying the university’s commitment to meaningful community extension and service-learning.

The activity brought together teachers from Butig, Lanao del Sur for sessions on literacy instruction, including storytelling strategies, phonics, vocabulary development, reading materials preparation, and inclusive classroom practices. The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ capacity to address literacy gaps among early grade learners.

The initiative was carried out through the partnership of the 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙜, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘, 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 – 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙎𝙪𝙧 𝙄𝙄, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙎𝙐 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, reflecting a coordinated effort between higher education institutions and local education stakeholders to improve literacy outcomes in Butig. MARAWI CITY – To help make sure every child learns how to read well, the College of Education, Mindanao State University (MSU) - Marawi City will start a special training program tomorrow, May 22, 2026.

The two-day capacity-building activity, titled “𝙉𝙤 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙜 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙇𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝘽𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙙: 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 & 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜,” is specifically designed for teachers from the Municipality of Butig, Lanao del Sur. It will run from 𝙈𝙖𝙮 22 𝙩𝙤 23, 2026, 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 8:00 𝘼𝙈 𝙩𝙤 4:00 𝙋𝙈, 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙎𝙐 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙬𝙞 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮.

The training aims to strengthen the instructional skills of Butig-based educators in teaching early grade literacy. Faculty experts and literacy specialists from the College of Education will provide practical and classroom-ready strategies on storytelling techniques, development of engaging reading materials, vocabulary building, phonics and word recognition, and addressing diverse learner needs in inclusive classroom settings.

The initiative is a collaborative effort between the 𝙇𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩 (𝙇𝙂𝙐) 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘, 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙈𝘽𝙃𝙏𝙀) – 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙎𝙪𝙧 2, ensuring direct support for teachers serving the municipality’s elementary learners.

Through this targeted training for Butig educators, MSU and its partners aim to strengthen classroom literacy instruction and ensure that no child in Butig is left behind in reading and comprehension skills development.

𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀

MARAWI CITY — The College of Education of Mindanao State University (MSU) successfully conducted a Pre-Employment Seminar on May 21, 2026, at the Social Hall New Building, College of Education, aimed at equipping students with essential knowledge and skills for their future careers.

With the theme, “𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩: 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙡,” the seminar focused on preparing participants for the realities of professional employment, particularly in the field of education and public service.

The event was in collaboration with the MAED Guidance and Counseling (GC) students of the 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙢 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙜𝙚 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. (𝙈𝙄𝘾𝘼).

The seminar served as a meaningful platform for students to gain practical guidance and career awareness as they prepare to transition from academic life to the workforce.
