โโMARAWI CITY โ The Mindanao State University (MSU) College of Law held its Purple Hood and Bar Passers 2025 Testimonial on May 24, 2026, at the Ranaw Business Hotel. The event honored the current graduating class alongside the university's newly licensed lawyers, featuring addresses from university officials, student representatives, past valedictorians, and the Senior Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
โDuring the addresses, OIC Dean Atty. Annabelle B. Caรฑazares-Mindalano reminded the honorees that the law is a profound responsibility to act as an instrument of justice, while MSU System President Atty. Paisalin P.D. Tago, CPA, emphasized that the SABLAY symbols public trust, challenging the new professionals to prioritize integrity over technical competence alone.
It was followed by Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Marvic M.V.F. Leonen who served as the keynote speaker. He stated that a legal career must be measured by its contribution to a dignified society and calling for a collective pact never to fail the public.
As a response, Class Valedictorian 2026 Hanna Nasriah C. Sansarona expressed gratitude for the shared resilience of the graduating full-time, working, and student-parents, while Atty. Moh'd Nor A. Ibrahim (Valedictorian 2025) noted that bar preparation begins on day one of law school, outlining discipline, rest, honesty, practice, and prayer as his core principles for success.
Furthermore, Atty. Sittie Hedaya S. Pansar (Valedictorian 2024) shared how overcoming an initial setback taught her that resilience defines a lawyer and that delayed success is still success, a sentiment echoed by Atty. Dayamon P. Macalnas-Bubong, who credited the faculty with teaching endurance and urged the new lawyers to use their words to defend and inspire.
Finally, Atty. Aniah D. Dumpa (First Honorable Mention 2023) discussed navigating major surgery and isolation during her review, emphasizing that a flawless preparation does not exist and that the exam ultimately serves as a deep test of character and faith.

Breaking the assumption that academic honors guarantee an easy path, Atty. Aniah D. Dumpa opened her testimonial by reflecting on the intense personal and physical trials she faced before her bar review. Graduating as the MSU Law class First Honorable Mention in 2023, she had to quickly navigate the transitions of married life while simultaneously undergoing medical operations, including a major surgery scheduled right during the exam season. In her message at the Purple Hood and Bar Passers 2025 Testimonial held today, she detailed the emotional and physical strain of reviewing in isolation in Cagayan de Oro, emphasizing how essential peer and family support networks are in surviving the mental toll of the preparation.
Atty. Dumpa explained that a flawless bar preparation does not exist, as candidates inevitably face exhaustion, illness, and self-doubt. Recalling a time she stayed awake for nearly 48 hours, she learned that pausing to rest is a necessity rather than a weakness. She emphasized to future examinees that enduring these difficulties does not equal failure, noting that the bar exam serves as a deep test of character, patience, and faith rather than a measure of intelligence alone.
She urged future candidates to trust their preparation and rely on divine timing. She concluded by stating that the ultimate journey is not just about gaining a legal title, but about becoming a stronger, humbler, and more faithful individual dedicated to serving justice, truth, and humanity.

During her testimonial, Atty. Dayamon P. Macalnas-Bubong, Rawaten Elite Awardee, delivered a thoughtful message at the Purple Hood and Bar Passers 2025 Testimonial held today. She expressed gratitude to the MSU College of Law faculty for teaching endurance and discipline alongside the law, describing the bar exam as a test of faith and self-command. She also recognized the vital support of her family and fraternity peers.
Atty. Macalnas-Bubong noted that a single setback does not erase years of discipline or define a person's entire journey, but rather teaches humility and recovery. She reminded the audience that in a profession where words are the primary tools, legal professionals must use their speech to defend and inspire rather than wound or cause others to lose their courage.
In her concluding remarks, she congratulated her fellow new lawyers and stated that the title of attorney is a continuing obligation to serve with competence, integrity, and humility. She urged the current graduating students to face future challenges directly instead of avoiding them, encouraging them to learn from every difficulty. She closed by calling on everyone to serve their communities honorably and to protect, rather than diminish, the light in others.

Reflecting on her time in law school, Atty. Sittie Hedaya S. Pansar, MSU Law Class Valedictorian of 2024, shared that graduating at the top of her class was an unexpected achievement meant to honor her parents and supporters. However, she candidly discussed how the internal pressure and the mistake of suffering in silence led to a panic attack during her first bar exam, causing her to fall short of passing by less than 1%.
Atty. Pansar emphasized that this setback taught her that delayed success is still success, and that a title does not define a lawyer, but resilience does. For her second attempt, she changed her approach by focusing on self-compassion and being gentle with herself. She advised current candidates that passing the bar exam requires protecting one's heart and mind rather than just memorizing laws, urging them to acknowledge their fears and ask for help when needed.
In her concluding remarks, she encouraged law students to move at their own pace, noting that the only bad day is the day a person gives up. She reminded the audience to make their emotions work for them rather than against them, and to avoid letting internal doubts take over. She closed her address by reminding everyone to trust in God's perfect timing, expressing faith that their future victories are already written.

During his testimonial, Atty. Moh'd Nor A. Ibrahim, the Class Valedictorian 2025, shared practical advice for current law students and future examinees during the Purple Hood and Bar Passers 2025 Testimonial. He reminded the audience that preparation for the bar exam begins on the very first day of law school, rather than during the formal bar review period.
He shared his five non-negotiable principles for success: discipline, rest, honesty, practice, and prayer. He explained that discipline ensures consistency when motivation fades, while proper rest prevents burnout and helps the mind recover. He also emphasized the importance of self-honesty when facing difficult topics and urged candidates to practice answering past exam questions under strict time constraints to build proper ex*****on skills.
Concluding his address, Atty. Ibrahim highlighted the power of daily prayer and maintaining trust throughout the process. He encouraged aspiring lawyers to stay dedicated, rely on their preparation, and trust the Almighty.
