The Department of Biology at Mindanao State University-Main Campus is now accepting applications for admission to its Master of Science in Biology and Doctor of Philosophy in Biology (academic track) programs under the DOST-STRAND Scholarship for the 1st Semester, Academic Year 2026-2027.

In observance of the commencement of the Holy Month of Ramadhan, 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟴 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, subject to the official declaration following the moonsighting (𝒏𝒊𝒚𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒉) on the evening of 17 February 2026.

This declaration is intended to provide our students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to properly begin the holy month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal, and to spend meaningful time with their families.

For further guidance, 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟭𝟳 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿.

Offices rendering essential services and those with previously scheduled activities deemed necessary shall continue operation, subject to the discretion of the respective heads of offices. Furthermore, the Heads of Campuses or Schools under the MSU System are hereby given discretion to declare a localized holiday or suspension of classes within their respective jurisdictions.

The 2-Day Publication Writeshop Program 2026 will be conducted to enhance the research writing and publication competencies of faculty members, researchers, and students. This academic initiative aims to support the production of high-quality scholarly outputs that adhere to established national and international publishing standards.

The program will feature expert-led sessions on scholarly journal selection, manuscript organization and development, peer review processes, ethical publishing practices, and submission procedures. Participants will be equipped with essential knowledge and practical strategies to strengthen their research manuscripts and effectively navigate the scholarly publishing process.

✨ We warmly invite all participants to join us in this intensive and collaborative learning experience. Get ready to write, revise, and refine your work alongside peers and experts in scholarly publishing.

📌 Participants are encouraged to come prepared by bringing their own laptops or other electronic gadgets, extension wires, and a writeshop notebook to maximize hands-on learning throughout the sessions.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: OVCAA extends enrollment to January 27

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) released Memorandum no. 001-0123 extending the enrollment to January 27, issued on Friday, January 23.

The initial timeline for the enrollment period was scheduled on January 12 up to January 23, according to the University Calendar from the Office of the Registrar.

The Supreme Student Government submitted an appeal which was endorsed by the Division of Student Affairs to the OVCAA on the extension of enrollment and the non-P100 fines per day, announced at the same day.

The appeal submitted by the SSG on the extension of enrollment has been approved by the OVCAA.

The memorandum serves to extend the enrollment days to Tuesday to cater students not enrolled yet.

Enrollment on January 30 onwards will be considered late with fines and penalties given. Change and additional matriculation is also set to happen on January 27 to 28.

Start of classes is scheduled on Monday, January 26.

The atmosphere was electric with excitement, active involvement, and seamless collaboration. Despite the early power interruptions, Our faculty members effortlessly stepped into a variety of roles, hosting the event, moderating sessions, guiding discussions, keeping perfect time, and kicking things off with fun icebreakers, while the graduate students brought tremendous depth to the open forum through incisive questions, stimulating exchanges, and vibrant intellectual dialogue.⁣
