This event, organized for incoming freshmen, aimed to foster camaraderie, teamwork, and meaningful engagement as they begin their academic journey in the university.

In collaboration with the Department of Student Affairs (DSA), the Supreme Student Government (SSG), and the Association of Registered Campus Student Organizations (ARCSO), various student organizations came together to ensure a welcoming and memorable experience for the new students.

LEARNING THE ART OF DEBATE πŸ“£

Since April 29, 2026, our aspiring debaters and adjudicators have been continuously learning through orientations, trainings, and cross-training sessions with experienced debaters from different college debate clubs across the university, alongside guidance from the Rostrum.

Every session has been a step toward sharpening our arguments, strengthening our voices, and understanding the art of debate.

The journey is far from over. Still learning, still training, and still growing, our aspiring debaters and adjudicators are preparing for the competitions ahead ready to carry the name of the College of Agriculture and take their voices to the debate floor.

JUST IN | ARVUM Sets the Floor for the Next COA Debaters

Where ideas take root and voices take flight.

The name ARVUM, drawn from the Latin word for field or farmland, reflects its purpose: to cultivate minds, grow ideas, and give aspiring debaters a place to develop their voices.

In the College of Agriculture, the league brings debate closer to COA students who are ready to question, reason, and defend their stand when the pressure is on.

ARVUM is registered at the university level, while its registration within the College of Agriculture is still undergoing processing.

Even as that process continues, the league has begun building its debaters through training and cross-training sessions that demand more than memorized speeches.

Students are challenged to think quickly, construct stronger arguments, dissect opposing points, and deliver their thoughts with clarity when every second counts.

Through ARVUM, COA students are learning to turn uncertainty into composure and ideas into arguments worth hearing.
