The Mindanao State University – Main Campus, College of Education once again successfully organized the long-awaited Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) Student Congress after years of hiatus. The event gathered various teacher education institutions from different places, bringing together aspiring educators for a meaningful day filled with learning, collaboration, and friendly competition. Among the participating schools was Ranao Council – Al Khwarizmi International College Foundation Inc., which proudly joined the congress as one of the long-time and consistent partners of the event since its early years of implementation.
The institution expressed great joy and excitement in participating once again after a long break. For many students and faculty members, the event became more than just a congress—it served as a reunion of future educators who share the same passion for teaching, leadership, and academic excellence. The return of the TEIs Student Congress also marked another opportunity for the institution to showcase its active involvement in educational activities and student development programs.
The morning session formally opened with a registration process followed by an invocation, the singing of the National Anthem and BARMM Hymn, and welcome remarks from university officials. Messages of support were also delivered by distinguished guests and education leaders, inspiring the participants to continue striving for excellence in the teaching profession. One of the highlights of the opening program was the lecture delivered by Dr. Rose Mae T. Lumasag, Ph.D., Education Supervisor II from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region X. The lecture provided valuable insights and encouraged future educators to become competent, compassionate, and innovative teachers in the modern educational landscape.
After the lecture, the congress proceeded to the simultaneous contest activities where participants from different institutions showcased their talents, knowledge, and skills. During Part I of the competitions, participants engaged in the Research Showcase and Poster Making Contest, which highlighted students’ creativity, critical thinking, and research abilities. These activities allowed future educators to present innovative ideas and educational concepts relevant to the current needs of society and the academe.
In the afternoon session, the excitement continued through another set of simultaneous competitions which included the Quiz Show, Demo-Teaching Contest, and Amazing Race. The Quiz Show tested the participants’ academic knowledge and mastery of educational concepts, while the Demo-Teaching Contest gave aspiring teachers the opportunity to demonstrate their teaching strategies, classroom management skills, and communication abilities. Meanwhile, the Amazing Race added fun and excitement to the event as participants worked together through teamwork, problem-solving, and cooperation in different challenges prepared by the organizers.
The congress concluded with an awarding ceremony and closing remarks, recognizing the hard work, dedication, and participation of all schools and contestants. Indeed, the TEIs Student Congress became a successful and memorable event that strengthened camaraderie among future educators and renewed the commitment of participating institutions toward excellence in teacher education. For Ranao Council – Al Khwarizmi International College Foundation Inc., joining the congress once again was not only an achievement but also a proud reminder of its continuous support and active participation in academic and educational endeavors.
