The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) invites researchers from the Mindanao State University-Main Campus, Marawi City to submit research proposals for possible funding under the 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

The forum convened editors of Philippine scholarly journals to exchange insights, address common challenges, and develop collective strategies to strengthen editorial standards and enhance journal quality--while advancing the visibility, accessibility, and contextual grounding of Philippine scholarship.

Key sessions highlighted pathways toward SCOPUS indexing for global visibility, as well as strengthening scholarly evaluation through Philippine-centered metrics such as the 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘇 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝘅 (𝗔𝗚𝗣𝗖𝗜).

Dir. Mangontarum and Ms. Pandapatan’s participation marks a significant step toward the indexing of the University’s flagship publication, the Mindanao Journal, under the management of MSIRC. It is worth noting that the Mindanao Journal, first published in 1974, was revitalized through BOR Resolution No. 079, s. 2025 under the leadership of Dir. Mangontarum, alongside the development of its official website in 2024.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺, and his co-authors, on the publication of their research titled “𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘺 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰, 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴, 𝘜𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘏𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘺 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴” in the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, a SCOPUS-indexed journal of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

This study contributes to the growing body of research on policy development and environmental governance, particularly in the context of Lake Lanao, one of the country’s most significant natural and cultural resources.

The research was funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, BARMM, and supported by Mindanao State University through Special Order No. 658-OP, s. 2022.

🎉🎉The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) proudly announces the approval of the first-ever 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸.

Spearheaded by 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺, the handbook consolidates all existing policies on research and publication within the Main Campus, providing a unified and comprehensive guide for faculty members, researchers, and students.

The handbook underwent thorough review and endorsement by the University Research, Extension, and Development Council (UREDC) and the MSU System Research and Extension Planning Committee (REPC). It was subsequently approved by the 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 during its 274th Meeting on March 31, 2026, held at the Commission on Higher Education, Diliman, Quezon City, through 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟲𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The Institute, under the leadership of Dir. Mangontarum, extends its sincere gratitude to MSU System President 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗣. 𝗗. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗖𝗣𝗔 for his strong support to this milestone and to the continued advancement of research and publication across the University.

The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) proudly announces that its official logo is now duly registered with the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (𝗜𝗣𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗟).

This registration grants the Institute exclusive legal rights over the use of its logo, protecting it from unauthorized use or imitation. As such, only the Institute is authorized to utilize the logo for official communications, branding, and related initiatives--reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding its identity and upholding its institutional values.

The logo was designed by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗥. 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗲, a BS Statistics student, and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗧. 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴, faculty member of the Department of Communication and Media Studies, under the supervision of 𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺. It was formally recognized by the MSU Board of Regents through 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟯𝟲𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, as part of the rebranding of the former "Mamitua Saber Research Center (MSRC)" into the "Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation (MSIRC)".

𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲 of Japan has received complimentary copies of her publication titled “𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦-𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘸 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴,” featured in the latest edition of 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘈𝘳𝘵 & 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.

In a personal conversation with the Institute Director, Ms. Watanabe expressed her appreciation for her continuing partnership with the University and has conveyed her intention to visit the Main Campus in the future to meet with researchers and deliver lectures to those who share similar scholarly interests.

𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘈𝘳𝘵 & 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 is one of the flagship publications of MSU-Main Campus, Marawi City, managed by the 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖). We warmly invite interested authors and researchers to submit their works for possible publication in this historic journal.
