๐๐๐๐ | Meet Kirim's Newest OIC-Editor-in-Chief
The outgoing Editor-in-Chief of The Kirim proudly and confidently designates the current Managing Editor, Jamalic U. Mangadang, as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and Acting Editor-in-Chiefโthrough the Memorandum No. 2026-001โwho shall serve until the election and installation of the new Editorial Board.
Effective April 2, 2026, this appointment comes in light of the outgoing Editor-in-Chief's indefinite absence and is made with the endorsement and formal approval of the publication's Adviser.
The interim designation seeks to ensure the uninterrupted continuity of the publication's operations, uphold its institutional commitments to the student body, and sustain the efficient circulation of its journalistic services throughout the transition period. As Acting Editor-in-Chief, Mangadang shall assume the powers, duties, and responsibilities necessary to oversee editorial operations, direct organizational affairs, and preserve the publication's standards of excellence, credibility, and journalistic integrity.
The Kirim remains steadfast in its mandate to inform, engage, and amplify the voices of the students of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic, and Asian Studies (KFCIAAS). It likewise remains committed to reflecting the rich diversity, aspirations, and perspectives within the center through responsible, relevant, and principled journalism.
Further announcements regarding the publication's organizational structure and transitional arrangements shall be released in due course.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the college community for its continued trust, understanding, and cooperation as The Kirim navigates this period of transition and renewal.

This event marks the first RPLP convening in Muslim Mindanao, providing a unique opportunity for researchers to engage with an international network of scholars and contribute to meaningful discussions on religion and public life in the Philippines.

ADVISORY effective June 1, 2026!
Pursuant to Civil Service rules and operational requirements, Mindanao State University hereby discontinues the compressed workweek (Memo No. 027-OP, S. 2026) and reverts to the regular schedule under the following guidelines:
โข Work Schedule: The official work schedule shall be from Monday to Friday, with regular office hours consisting of eight (8 hours per day, exclusive of lunch break, subject to existing university and Civil Service Commission rules and regulations, effective June 1, 2026
โข Coverage: This arrangement shall apply to all administrative officials, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and other employees of the University, unless otherwise authorized under special work arrangements approved by the Office of the President.
โข Continuity of Essential Services: All offices and units providing essential services, including security, health, DRRMO, utilities, and maintenance services, shall continue to maintain uninterrupted operations and may adopt appropriate shifting schedules whenever necessary.
โข Compliance: Heads of Offices, Deans, Directors, and Unit Heads are directed to ensure strict compliance with this Memorandum and monitor attendance and observance of official working hours.
โข Repealing Clause: All issuances, memoranda, or portions thereof inconsistent with this Memorandum are hereby repealed, amended, or modified accordingly.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA), through the University System Curriculum Committee (USCC), successfully conducted the Review and Evaluation of MSU-Marawi Program Proposals on May 28, 2026 at the MSU-IIT CED IDS Conference Room.
The activity provided a venue for the thorough academic and technical evaluation of proposed and revised academic programs to ensure their quality, relevance, responsiveness, and alignment with institutional, national, and global standards. Program proponents presented their respective proposals, which underwent rigorous review, critiquing, and deliberation by the USCC members.
