𝗔 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴
For 𝙅𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙝 𝘽. 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖 of Marawi City Division, more than three decades in the teaching profession have been filled with valuable lessons, not only from books and experience, but also from the learners she has guided throughout the years.
As an educator, Teacher Jaylilah believes that learning is a shared journey. While teachers are entrusted with imparting knowledge, learners also leave lasting lessons that continue to shape and inspire those who teach them.
Her learners' endless questions have taught her to remain curious and open-minded, reminding her that learning begins with the courage to ask “why.”
“𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘺.”
Beyond resilience, her students have taught her the importance of listening. Through years of teaching, she has learned that every learner carries a unique story that deserves to be heard and understood.
“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦.”
Perhaps the most meaningful lesson of all is the realization that learning never ends. Even after decades in the classroom, her learners continue to remind her that growth is a lifelong process.

As the nation celebrates National Teachers’ Month, Teacher Jaylilah’s story serves as a reminder that education is not a one-way process. It is a journey where teachers and learners grow together, inspiring one another every step of the way.
