June 15, 2026 - The Supreme Student Government participated in the 2nd Committee Meeting conducted by the Committee on Transportation of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Marawi on the proposed fare matrix for tricycle services in the city.

As representatives of the student sector, the MSUM - SSG actively took part in the deliberations by raising concerns, seeking clarifications on the proposed Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and presenting recommendations regarding the proposed fare structure.

Among the issues raised were the practicality and applicability of the proposed fare matrix, particularly its implementation among commuters and drivers.

The student representatives also presented recommendations aimed at promoting a fare system that is clear, accessible, and responsive to the realities faced by both passengers and transportation providers.

The recommendations and observations presented during the committee were taken into consideration by the committee and will form part of the continuing discussions on the proposed ordinance.

As the official representative of the student body, the MSUM - SSG remains committed to ensuring that the voices, concerns, and welfare of students are represented in policy discussions that directly affect daily life, mobility, and access to education.

Tan, Vice Governor of the Province of Sulu, who led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, marking another milestone in the university's commitment to quality education and infrastructure development.
