Engaging the Ranaw Youth: Climate Change and Environment Advocacy 20/07/2022

Our very own AWE alum Shri Tahanie Macaumbao, the Founder and CEO of the Green By Design, is among those young Meranaws who responded to the environment advocacy through entrepreneurship.

Shri gives a talk on the "Initiatives from the Meranaw Youth: From Water Lilies to Packaging" during the program "Engaging the Ranaw Youth: Climate Change and Environment Advocacy" co-sponsored by the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development, Islamic Relief USA, American Corner Marawi, the University Library, KFCIAAS, CFES, and the Shariah Center.

Shri's eco-entreneurship brings livelihood to her partner women who provide the water lilies or hyacinths raw materials which are then turned into a bio-degradable packaging while at the same time lessening the presence of water lilies in the Lake Lanao.

We are truly proud of our awesome-preneurs.

Shri Tahanie Macaumbao's presentation "Initiatives From the Meranaw Youth: From Water Lilies to Packaging" was the most concrete response to the challenge of climate change from the Meranaw Youth. Ms. Macaumbao is the Founder of Green By Design and a graduate of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Marawi.

Throwback photos of our beginning. Our first AWE Cohort Graduation Day on January 14, 2021. The pandemic disrupted all our planned activities, but not the dreams and determination of our Awe-somepreneurs to reach the finish line. Posting these throwback memories to relish our collaboration with women entrepreneurs. Soon, we will post updates of their journeys. Meantime, enjoy these snapshots.
