A short message from Omair Sadang

Year 2019, this club was organized by our former Prime Minister— Ms. Shri Tahanie Macaumbao together with her batchmates in order to produce great debaters who will one day represent the school. It is a club that is trying to mold the young minds and talents of the students in debating. It all started from numbered members and now, the family is growing. It was the first days of the club when she ( Ms. Shri Tahanie Macaumbao ) asked us to please continue the legacy and hold on to it up until the very end. This statement of hers was instilled in my mind. Fast forward, year 2022, I was chosen to take the position of Prime Minister. It was indeed a pressure to lead this club with a humble knowledge in debating. There were days when I am asking myself if I am really suited to be on this position, if I am really deserving to be one of these great debaters. I kept on thinking and asking myself and alas! I decided to take the responsibility and do my best to learn and do everything I could in order to continue this legacy. Together with my members, we had great times discussing things and doing some little debating. We tried our best to learn the basics and make some improvements. It was indeed a good journey to take on. Time flies so fast and now, I'll be leaving the club being called as the former Prime Minister. There were a lot of memories that I'll be holding on from this club. I won't forget the fact that I've started my journey here as a debater. I'll promise that I'll hold on to everything that I've learned from here and do my very best to hone them and become one of the best debaters, someday.
It was this day where I could finally say that, " Yes, I finally did it. I fulfilled the only wish of Ate Tahanie, her wish of continuing the legacy of this club". Today, as the current Prime Minister, I wish and ask our seccessors the same thing. I wish and ask you to please continue the legacy and make our school proud. Hold on to the name of our club and most importantly, the name of being an ILSian. I wish upon the God that He guide you and help you on your journey. I would end my little message here. Wassalam and thank you.

The Project Pamokaw is a 3-day workshop on eco-journalism that aims to empower environmental advocates through the art of journalism and creativity to raise awareness about pertinent and current local ecological issues.

The Project Pamokaw intends to bring together young researchers, writers, creatives, and photojournalists from Marawi City between the ages of 17 to 23 who will participate in the environmental journalism workshop. The workshop will include an environmental seminar, leadership training, writing and photography coaching, research capacity building, and creative designing training.

The project aspires to train young aspiring journalists to serve as the voice of the local environment and to use their potential talents to promote environmental consciousness. After the course, participants will have an opportunity to become contributors to the Pamokaw: Ranaw Imanto, a youth-led zine that aims to publish in its first volume the consolidated research about Lake Lanao, which will be launched after the completion of Project Pamokaw.
