The *College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), MSU–Main Campus*, together with the *Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation (MSIRC)* under the *Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Extension, and Development (OVCRED)*, invites faculty members, researchers, and students across *MSU–Marawi* to participate in the *25th Research Spotlight*.

# # # 📄 WHAT TO SUBMIT

Interested presenters are requested to submit a *Request for Spotlight* together with the following requirements:

• Request for Spotlight
• Three (3) printed copies of the completed research paper or extended abstract
• Certification and Endorsement Form for Spotlight
• Panel Approval Sheet, for thesis or dissertation outputs
• Recommendation from the adviser or consent from the student and other author(s), when the presenter is not the principal or corresponding author
• Appropriate clearance from the Research Review Committee, when applicable, such as Ethics Clearance

📌 *Please note:* All requirements must be submitted *in hard copy*. Soft copy submissions will not be accepted.

🎉🎉The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) proudly announces the approval of the first-ever 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸.

Spearheaded by 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺, the handbook consolidates all existing policies on research and publication within the Main Campus, providing a unified and comprehensive guide for faculty members, researchers, and students.

The handbook underwent thorough review and endorsement by the University Research, Extension, and Development Council (UREDC) and the MSU System Research and Extension Planning Committee (REPC). It was subsequently approved by the 𝗠𝗦𝗨 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 during its 274th Meeting on March 31, 2026, held at the Commission on Higher Education, Diliman, Quezon City, through 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟲𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The Institute, under the leadership of Dir. Mangontarum, extends its sincere gratitude to MSU System President 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗣. 𝗗. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗖𝗣𝗔 for his strong support to this milestone and to the continued advancement of research and publication across the University.

In accordance with the CNSM Student Council Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), particularly Article V on the obligations of members and Article XIV on sanctions, and in the exercise of the Parliament’s discretionary authority to determine appropriate and proportionate disciplinary measures, the CNSM Student Council Parliament hereby establishes the following guidelines regarding attendance-related sanctions.

Upon the agreement of the CNSM Student Council Parliament, the Council 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 for absences during official events and activities, notwithstanding the availability of fines as a sanction under Article XIV, Section 3(d) of the CBL. Instead, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, as authorized under Article XIV, Section 3(h), which allows the imposition of other sanctions deemed appropriate and proportionate.

Students who incur absences shall be required to 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬. Acceptable items include, but are not limited to, 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫-𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐎𝐓𝐂) 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬.

All donated materials shall be utilized 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐍𝐒𝐌 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, as follows:
• Candies shall be distributed during examination periods until supplies are exhausted.
• School supplies shall be donated to students in need.
• Over-the-counter medicines shall be made available for student use in cases of minor illness or discomfort during regular school days.
• Trash bags shall be used to support cleanliness and sanitation efforts during official CNSM activities and within designated college areas.

This policy is issued to clarify the Council’s chosen mode of sanction implementation, ensuring that attendance-related penalties remain non-monetary, constructive, proportionate, and beneficial to the college community, while remaining fully consistent with the CBL and the principles of due process.

𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙔 𝙆𝙊𝙊𝙊—

The 𝗖𝗡𝗦𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 officially releases the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 for the 2nd Semester, A.Y. 2025–2026. This breakdown presents the approved fees intended to support student-led programs, organizational operations, and academic initiatives throughout the semester.

The listed fees were finalized through consultations with the 𝘾𝙉𝙎𝙈 𝘼𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙡, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. Each item was carefully reviewed to ensure that the amounts are fair, transparent, and directly allocated to activities and services that benefit the students of CNSM.

Please be informed that the mode of payment is strictly through the Student Council Office. For guidance and transparency, students are encouraged to review the breakdown and coordinate with their respective representatives for any clarifications.
