MARAWI CITY โ€“ The MSU International Convention Center was filled with pride, emotion, and celebration as the College of Education hosted its 6th Pinning Ceremony on September 16, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A total of 24 student teachers from the Class of SY 2026โ€“2027 (1st Semester) gathered to take part in the rite of passage, marking a significant milestone in their journey toward entering the teaching profession.

Guided by the theme โ€œFuture-Ready Teachers: Committed to Inclusive, Innovative, and Human-Centered Education,โ€ the ceremony highlighted the crucial role educators play in adapting to modern learning landscapes while remaining deeply empathetic guides for their students.

The event commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Rohanifa T. Mama-Marohombsar, Ph.D., who offered personal anecdotes from her student days alongside reflections on her professional journey. She encouraged the pre-service teachers to take pride in their vocation, reminding them why loving the profession is fundamental to true educator success.

Furthering the message of dedication, Prof. Minerva Saminah M. Naga, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairsโ€”represented by Prof. Cherilyn S. Mojicaโ€”delivered a message emphasizing that teaching extends far beyond instruction. She noted that teachers serve as lifelong mentors whose guidance profoundly influences student decision-making and development.

Guest speaker Prof. Cayambae R. Diator delivered an inspiring address centered on the societal impact of teaching. Prof. Diator reminded the audience that because teachers hold the power to shape young lives, the profession must always be deeply valued and never looked down upon.

The event maintained an energetic and touching atmosphere, supported by faculty, guests, and family members in attendance. Students from ELC 197 and ELC 101/102 delivered a lively rendition of โ€œTry Everythingโ€ (from Disneyโ€™s Zootopia), capturing the spirit of perseverance required in teaching.

In one of the morning's most emotional moments, the pre-service teachers of ELC 197 performed their tribute song, โ€œThis Is My Now,โ€ dedicated directly to their parents and guardians in gratitude for their constant support throughout their academic journey.

Concluding the program, Dr. Monassalam Disangcopan, Assistant Dean of the College of Education, offered closing remarks that synthesized the core message of the event. Beyond being a formal ceremony, the 6th Pinning Ceremony served as a poignant tribute to the resilience, passion, and lifelong commitment required of educators entering today's classrooms.

Better late than never to share this event! Last August 10 the Education Sciences and Mathematics Society held its Freshmen Salubong to welcome the freshmen and juniors in BSEd Sciences and Mathematics. ๐Ÿ“Œ

This tradition was prepared by the 2nd year students with seniors also helping organize the activity. The gathering took place at the Golf Course MSU Main Campus and everyone wore blue and white as the official theme. The day was filled with warm welcomes and friendly interactions as new connections were formed.

The ESMS community is glad to have everyone on board. This marks the start of a new academic journey and the society looks forward to seeing everyone grow and succeed in the coming school year. โค

CED students gathered to clean, arrange, and brighten assigned areas and facilities, helping create a more orderly and welcoming atmosphere for the semester ahead ๐Ÿ’š
