February, 22, 2026 || 𝐌𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥

Students in 𝐀𝐁𝐒 𝟏𝟏𝟎 (𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞) moved their chairs aside yesterday to hold realistic mock trial. The room felt like a real court as students took on roles as lawyers, witnesses and jury to adjudicate a complex case regarding 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐡.

The event was designed to sharpen essential skills, including critical thinking, persuasive public speaking and analytical reasoning. By stepping into this the students were able bridge the gap between the 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭 and its real-world application.

After hearing all the stories, the jury made a final choice. Even though one side won the case, the whole class did a great job. 𝐴𝑙ℎ𝑎𝑚𝑑𝑢𝑙𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎ℎ!

Yesterday, the 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢'𝐚𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫𝐬 of RC AKIC Islamic and International Studies Department successfully conducted an educational seminar about 𝐑𝐀 𝟏𝟏𝟓𝟗𝟔 also known as 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭 with the theme 𝐵𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑇𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠: 𝑁𝑎𝑣𝑖𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐴𝑛𝑡𝑖-𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝐴𝑐𝑡 at 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐤 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐥𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 with 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐌𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝 𝐌. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢, 𝐒𝐂𝐋 𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫.

The initiative was aimed to empower local community by clarifying the legal implications of new law, which classifies child marriage as public crime. During the session, the Atty. Cali emphasized that informal and customary justifications are no longer legally recognized including the parents and solemnizing officers.

The local residents and barangay officials participated in the discussion and they highlighted the importance of education to safeguard the rights and well-being of youth in Marawi.
