The session was organized by the 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 (𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐒𝐎) under the guidance of the 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 (𝐃𝐒𝐀), in collaboration with the 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐦 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐏𝐇𝐖𝐂), who facilitated the activities. The keynote talk was delivered by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁. 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐨, 𝐏𝐡.𝐃.

Representing CEEMSO in the Kumustahan Session were 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐚 (President), 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥 𝐖𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐧𝐠 (Vice President - Internal), 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐞-𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐫 (Secretary), and 𝐁𝐚𝐞' 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐣𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐨 (Project Planning Manager).

One of the most meaningful parts of the session was the 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘭-𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨, where student leaders opened up about their 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, and the 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺. The atmosphere became warm and supportive, and many found comfort in hearing stories that 𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯. The activity ended with a collective sense of ease and a gentle reminder to 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨, especially in the midst of leadership responsibilities.

On November 28, 2025, the 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑴𝒂𝒋𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝑶𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑪𝑬𝑬𝑴𝑺𝑶) successfully conducted its 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒕 𝑴𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒂𝒉𝒖𝒔 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒎 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒚 (𝑴𝑺𝑰𝑨). The morning was filled with stories and interactions that reminded everyone why reading matters and how deeply it connects people.

The event opened with an inspirational message from 𝑫𝒓. 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒚𝒂 𝑮. 𝑻𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒐, CEEMSO’s Senior Adviser. Although she could not attend personally, her message was delivered through CEEMSO’s Vice President External, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒊𝒛𝒂 𝑫. 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒃𝒐𝒏. In her words, CEEMSO’s efforts over the years have always been rooted in service: to help and give students meaningful experiences. She encouraged the Grade 7 students to “𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑏𝑢𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛 𝑏𝑢𝑡 𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑑𝑜𝑜𝑟𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑢𝑛, 𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔.” She also expressed her gratitude to MSIA for welcoming CEEMSO and to the officers who worked hard to bring the activity to life.

Afterward, 𝑴𝒂𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒆 𝑨𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒉 𝑫. 𝑪𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒍, an MSIA teacher and alumna of the College of Education, gave a short but heartfelt discussion. She spoke about 𝑤ℎ𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑑, 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑓𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑑, and even shared a reminder from 𝘚𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭 𝘈𝘭𝘢𝘲, which calls believers to read and seek knowledge.

The highlight of the program was the 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, featuring three stories: two multimedia presentations and one live narration with illustrations prepared by CEEMSO members. 𝑴𝒓. 𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒛𝒂 𝑷. 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒖𝒍𝒏𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒓 “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢,” the story of a young boy finding hope through drawing after the Marawi siege. 𝑴𝒔. 𝑨𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝑴. 𝑳𝒖𝒎𝒏𝒂 presented “𝐀𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲,” which followed a girl adjusting to life in Cebu and the challenge of being in a new place. 𝑴𝒔. 𝑨𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒉 𝑨. 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒖, another CEEMSO member, introduced “𝐔𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦,” a lighthearted story about two mischievous boys whose antics bring laughter to their community. Each presenter had their own way of keeping the learners engaged, and the students responded with enthusiasm, answering questions and sharing their thoughts.

The energy continued as CEEMSO opened 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. The activities were designed to make reading feel fun and approachable, and the learners participated with excitement and laughter.

Before ending, CEEMSO 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐤𝐢𝐭𝐬 to the Grade 7 students as a small gesture of gratitude and encouragement. In her closing message, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑺𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒆 𝑯𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒉 𝑻. 𝑷𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚𝒂, CEEMSO President, thanked MSIA for welcoming the team so warmly. She expressed hope that this would not be the last time CEEMSO visits and that the bond formed through the activity would continue in future collaborations.

The activity concluded with smiles, photos, and heartfelt goodbyes. In those moments, CEEMSO reaffirmed its belief that reading can build confidence, curiosity, and connection for every young learner.

Alhamdulillah! In response to the recent earthquakes that struck Davao and Cebu, the Mindanao State University community came together in an act of compassion and solidarity to extend help to those affected. Through this initiative, we witnessed how unity and kindness can truly bring hope in times of hardship.

We are pleased to share that the College of Education English Major Students Organization (CEEMSO) has successfully joined a donation drive in collaboration with various organizations including EDSO, SSED, CNSM SC, JES, JEMA, and YRC, a total of ₱17,854.00 was collected.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with our fellow Filipinos in Davao and Cebu. May this small act of kindness bring them comfort and hope in these challenging time. 🤲
