Ilian Elementary School proudly stands with the nation in supporting the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) headed by Principal *Dr. KHAREMA M. BOBONG*. As part of our commitment to gender equality and women empowerment, we remain dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and violence-free environment for all learners—especially women and young girls.

This year’s theme highlights the vital role of women in society and emphasizes the importance of treating every individual with dignity and respect. By understanding our differences, we gain the knowledge needed to build harmonious relationships and a more inclusive community.

In support of this campaign, Ilian Elementary School takes part in raising awareness about VAWC and educating students on gender and intersectionality as important tools for understanding these issues. So that we can create a community where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered.

Violence has no place in our homes, schools, or communities. Through unity and collective action, we can create a society that values women’s rights, protects their dignity, and amplifies their voices.

Ilian Elementary School, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Kharema Bobong, expresses its deep appreciation to Hon. MP Mohagher Iqbal of the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE), along with Dr. Rubina Macabunar, Superintendent of the Division of LDS I. Their steadfast support became the foundation of our School-Based Feeding Program and their decision to choose our school as a beneficiary made a significant impact.
Thanks to their generosity, the distribution of goods to our elementary learners was carried out smoothly and successfully.
This initiative brought smiles to hungry tummies and renewed hope with every meal served.

Today, we honor the true superheroes who have guided us throughout our journey. They are the ones who inspire us, who patiently teach us life-changing lessons — whether in academics or in building our character. These superheroes are none other than our beloved TEACHERS and ASATIDHS.

They are more than educators; they are mentors, second parents, and guiding lights who walk with us every step of the way. Through their love, sacrifices, and unwavering dedication, they plant seeds of hope and encourage us to reach greater heights.

On this day, we acknowledge their tireless commitment, the countless late nights they devote, and the indelible impact they leave in our hearts and futures.

A Legacy Beyond Politics

The political storm raged, and the winds of dissent howled around the beleaguered figure of Minister Mohagher Iqbal. For many, his "hardline" stance was a point of contention, a political liability in the intricate dance of power. Yet, what his critics failed to see was the silent, unshakeable foundation upon which he stood—a foundation built not of political alliances or public posturing, but of the deep, enduring love and support of the people he had dedicated his life to serving. To the masses of BARMM, especially the teachers, the youth, and the children, he was more than a minister; he was a father, the father of education who had opened doors to a future once only dreamed of.

In the classrooms of the Special Geographic Area, and the makeshift schools of Mapun, Tawi-Tawi, a quiet revolution was taking place, and it was his legacy. A child, once taught under the threat of gunfire, now learned to read in a safe, peaceful environment. A young teacher, finally given the resources and dignity she deserved, found renewed purpose in her profession. The youth, who had been offered a roadmap to an educated future, rallied to his cause with a fierce loyalty born not of obligation, but of gratitude.

These were the true pillars of his strength. The political headwinds were nothing more than a passing squall against a man whose roots ran deep into the heart of his community. The love and support of the masses, the innocent faith of the children, and the hopeful aspirations of the youth and teachers became a living shield. It was this deep, grassroots connection that would ensure he will not just survive the storm, but emerge from it stronger than ever before. For a man who had dedicated his life to planting the seeds of knowledge, his harvest was not power, but the unbreakable trust of a people who knew that their future was safe in his hands.
