[READ] FOOD TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS RECOGNIZED AT THE 3RD NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FOOD INNOVATION

Students from the BS Food Technology program participated in the 3rd National Conference on Food Innovation, where Therese Angel G. Benedicto and Sophea Mae P. Caraos received the 3rd Best Paper Award under the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) โ€“ Food Security and Food Systems category for their undergraduate thesis entitled โ€œPhysicochemical and Functional Properties of Flour from Selected Banana (Musa spp.) Corm Varieties and Its Utilization in Cookies,โ€ under the guidance of their adviser, Queenie Ann L. Curayag, Ph.D., PFT.

Also participating in the conference were Ms. Micabalo and Ms. Alcanzar, who presented their undergraduate thesis entitled โ€œDrying and Thermal Processing of Bamboo Shoot (Dendrocalamus latiforus): Effects on Physicochemical Functional Properties, Nutritional Composition and Prebiotic Potential of Polysaccharidesโ€ under the Health and Systems Management (HSM) category, with Dr. Curayag as their thesis adviser.

The hustle and bustle of requirements took a backseat last September 17 (Thursday) as the PAFT (Philippine Association of Food Technologists) community gathered at the CHE Grounds for KaCHEstahan 2026! From good food to great laughs, the booth was packed with camaraderie, friendly competition, and pure fun.

The energy didn't stop there, on September 18 (Friday) PAFT SIGMA proudly joined the sea of gold and green, marching shoulder-to-shoulder with Team ANLAK for the 116th Unified Foundation Day Parade! โ›ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฐ
