The Center for Food Research, Innovation and Extension (CFRIE) successfully conducted the training entitled CocoWISE: Coconut Workers’ Inclusive Skills and Income Empowerment, Technology Transfer Training on Value-Adding Technologies for Coconut-Based Products on December 9–10, 2025 at CFRIE, CMU, Musuan, Maramag, Bukidnon. This activity, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Bukidnon DTI Bukidnon in partnership with Central Mindanao University (CMU) through the Center for Food Research, Innovation and Extension (CFRIE) and the Institute of Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM), supports the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) of Region X and aimed to enhance the technical capability of coconut-based enterprises and farmer organizations and improve product quality and safety through Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality assurance measures. This training is one of the activities leading to the commercialization of value-added coconut products such as flavored coconut water and minimally processed coconut meat.

The Center for Food Research, Innovation and Extension was recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry Bukidnon for its invaluable contributions in research and development of coconut-based food products which contribute to advancing business development in the province of Bukidnon during the Pagdayeg 2025 last November 25, 2025 at Robinsons Valencia, Valencia City Bukidnon.
