Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) reinforced its commitment to quality assurance and operational excellence as all personnel of its Quality Assurance Office (QAO) earned Lean Six Sigma White Belt and Yellow Belt certifications through a complimentary training program facilitated by Prof. Marcelo M. Fernandes, an internationally recognized authority in operational excellence, American Society for Quality (ASQ) Master Black Belt, and Minitab Certified Training Provider.

The QAO team, headed by QAO Head Daniel S. Lerongan, Ph.D., includes Ms. May Rose E. Madrid, Ms. Mia Marisol M. Magpulong, Ms. Michelle Darlyne B. Ricarte, and Ms. Fretzel Vann L. Ayo-on. They completed training on process variation, waste reduction, and data-driven decision-making under the White Belt program, before advancing to the Yellow Belt level, where they gained competencies in identifying inefficiencies, applying statistical tools, and implementing improvement projects through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) framework.

The certifications strengthen the officeโ€™s capacity to implement evidence-based improvements aligned with ISO quality management standards. With NBSC already recommended for ISO certification, Lean Six Sigma principles further support the Collegeโ€™s efforts to institutionalize systematic process control, operational efficiency, and quality-driven decision-making across its systems.

This milestone reflects NBSCโ€™s efforts to strengthen its quality management systems and enhance service delivery, supporting the Collegeโ€™s pursuit of higher standards in governance, academic operations, and stakeholder services.
