📚 Make the Most of the Summer Break!
The Department of Education (DepEd) is gearing up for the 2026 Summer Remediation Program, running from May 6 to June 2, 2026. This initiative ensures that no learner is left behind by focusing on both academic subjects and foundational skills.
Here is everything you need to know about the two main summer programs to help your child prepare for the next school year:
1️⃣ Summer Academic Remedial Program (SARP)
Designed for students who need to recover specific competencies in subjects they struggled with during the regular school year.
Focus: Academic subjects (Grades/Courses).
Target Learners: Learners in Key Stages 1 to 4 (Elementary to Senior High School).
Criteria: Students who failed 1 or 2 subjects (final grade below 75).
Goal: Help students acquire the specific competencies of the failed subject so they can be promoted to the next grade level.
2️⃣ ARAL Summer Program
A 20-day targeted tutorial program focusing on foundational skills (Reading and Mathematics) to address learning gaps.
Focus: Skills-based intervention (Reading & Mathematics).
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Fridays are designated for home-based learning and teacher preparation).
Time Allocation: 2 hours per day per learning area.
Tutor-to-Learner Ratio: Recommended 1:10 for personalized attention.
🎯 Target Learners for ARAL (Summer 2026):
Reading: Incoming Grades 2–4 (Emerging Levels) and Incoming Grades 5–11 (Frustration Level).
Mathematics: Incoming Grades 2–4 (Not Proficient and Low Proficient levels).
