On 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, the De La Salle Model United Nations (DLSMUNCOM) members seized another opportunity facilitated by JA Philippines to attend the 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒈 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒔 at the Bloomberg Manila Office, Tower One Ayala Triangle, Ayala Avenue, Makati City. This event aimed to equip aspiring professionals across different fields with crucial skills in news writing and headlining.

The training session kicked-off with an 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒈'𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎, showing its capability to deliver fast and accurate news across international sectors, including economics, politics, and finance. The attendees were then tasked with a group activity which involved 𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 under time constraints based on a provided press release about current events. The exercise concluded with Bloomberg writers and the facilitator offering 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌 on the submitted works. One of the key learnings from this activity is that to become an efficient writer, you must be a reader.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐀 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐭 & 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠

Last September 30, 2024, members of De La Salle Model United Nations Community (DLSMUNCOM) were given the opportunity to attend an exclusive leadership training in Robinsons Cyber Sigma, McKinley West, Taguig City. The training was organized by 𝗝𝗔 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗿𝗻𝘀𝘁 & 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰, and was designed to focus on 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥. The event gathered a diverse group of aspiring leaders from various sectors, all eager to deepen their understanding of effective leadership in today’s rapidly changing landscape.

Here are a few key segments from the events:

• "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩”: The training began with a thought-provoking keynote speaker in leadership development, who emphasized the importance of flexibility, courage, adaptability, vision, and emotional intelligence in transformational leadership. Participants engaged in interactive workshops that encouraged self-reflection and peer feedback, fostering an environment of collaboration and open dialogue.
• "𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧”: The facilitators shared real-world examples of organizations that successfully implemented transformational leadership practices, demonstrating how leaders can empower their teams to achieve collective goals.
• "𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬": Networking was another vital component of the event. Attendees had the chance to connect with industry leaders and fellow participants, sharing insights and strategies that could be applied in their own organizations. This exchange of ideas reinforced the notion that effective leadership is not only about individual success but also about nurturing the potential in others.

Overall, the training offered significant insights into the fundamentals and methodologies of transformational leadership. It proved to be 𝙖 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙤𝙡𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 in their respective domains. Additionally, it highlighted the dedication of JA Philippines and Ernst & Young to nurture the future leaders of the society.

In DLSMUNCOM, we aspire to incorporate the recent learnings into our organizational practices by prioritizing 𝙛𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 in all our initiatives. The organization recognizes that a visionary approach, coupled with emotional intelligence, will enhance our ability to connect with diverse stakeholders and foster meaningful relationships, especially as we cater to the international field through different means.
